| Quote: Rob from Erith "I reckon if I was Down Under I'd give it a go, especially if the local team had a few former Premier League or SPL names in .
Mate of mine is exiled in NZ and he goes to A League games from time to time at Wellington, and although the standard is pretty poor (he's a Wednesday fan so he's used to it!) for a tenner you get food, 2 free drinks, free bus to the ground and a match ticket! His words 'not a bad cheap night out for an expat - except for all the moaning scousers!'
So what if QRL did a similar offer - pie and chips, 2 pints and a bus from Twickenham plus a match ticket for £10. Publicise it round the Walkabouts etc.. reckon there'd be any Aussie / NZ expat takers? Or run a bus from one of the Walkabouts in town? Seems going out to the wilds of Twickenham under their own steam is putting some off!'"
The offer of 2 pints, a bus from Twickenham and a ticket to the game for £10 is a good offer. I cant see the club going for that one though.
You can keep your pie and chips though!!!!

It's right what you say about Gussie, but you have to admit he does know his footy. I'll be honest I don't really know enough about the game over here to comment, it seldom gets a mention back home and it's not that popular here in London from what I've seen.
Im not trying to put shiit on the British game but you have to agree it's still the place where the likes of Craig Fitzgibbon come for a pension!'"
You are going into too much detail. it was me that asked you for more feedback on why if you "love your footy" you don't come and watch it here. I would watch a lot of games in Australia not just the elite NRL. Why? Because I also love footy and I love the interaction with other fans.

| The OP has started a thread on the VT suggesting ways in which to improve the "game" and the WCC......this is before he has set foot inside a ground to watch RL over here
Because the Aussie Public blah blah blah.......well guess what! You jumped on the plane...nobody held a gun to your head and flew over here. Please don't tell me you went through 5 airline meals and 36 hours of discomfort just to post observations that you could have done from back home? Get down to the stoop...you never know, you might enjoy it.

An English work colleague introduced me to Steak and Kidney pie and chips from a chip shop, wrapped up in white paper with heaps of added salt and vinegar.
Before I came here people warned me about British food.
I should have listened
An acquired taste I guess!

... wrapped in white paper ...
Bl**dy modern softie fad. Used to be wrapped in newspaper when I were a lad. Survived it, too.

Actually, the pies at Quins are done by an Aussie company! Jumbucks I think, or whoever it is that has shops at Shepherds Bush and Fulham! They are quite good, though maybe slightly over priced.

"Greg Inglis got through most of the session before being rested which was pleasing, and he looks on course to play some part against Harlequins on Sunday"

Melbourne coach said on SLTV that he was going to have alook at how Inglis goes and if he feels hes fit enough he would give hime something like 30 minutes against us.
I know we want the Quins to do well against them, but be great to see him play.
Also read that Gale out for us not only this game but for another month due to him breaking his jaw. so who we going to play in the Halves along with Orr.
