Might not be the end of the world, but proves costly for cash-strapped families going down, who already have to pay for travel and accommodation.

sorry, but cash strapped means feeling the pinch.....but not enough to still fork out for petrol, accommodation, food and a few beers.
If a family of 4 (with 2 kids on junior ST's) make the trip then it's an extra £30........I would suspect that a trip down with accommodation, petrol, food and beer would already cost in excess of £300...so 10% isn't life threatening.
I am not excusing what has happened, just pointng out the difference between cash strapped and poverty.

| Its not only the money side of things but the way Rugby League is treated with contempt. We were looking forward to our annual game down London (Weekend) for a league fixture on the 10th April, and not for a "shoe horned" fixture after a re-arranged union game.
We have been attending this fixture for the past 12 years, but sorry........the way this fixture has been managed is not on.

I agree....badly managed, but what can you do? If you really want to see inconvenience or financial penalties, try getting Sky to shift your game in France a few weeks before. Plane tickets, hotels etc....all useless. There were even Quins fans in the air ON THE WAY HOME last year when the rescheduled game kicked off.
As I said, not ideal and if you feel badly about it, then maybe you should get your club to have a word with Quins RL. It will make no difference, but at least you will have made your point.

| As you said there's a difference between cash-strapped and poverty, but in fact that 10% does indeed make a difference to families who are trying to save a bit of money, albeit they go and enjoy trips to watch RL occassionally. A lot familes do not fit the 'norm' of 2 adults and 2.4 children.

| I think it is more a case of principles rather than the near 75% increase in ticket price for most !!!
In my case because I'm self employed and have to work 7 days a week just to pay the rent and the taxman at the moment (my industry is not totally out of recession btw and sometimes I could go a week without work) it costs me a days pay + ticket + beer money + travel to watch a home game. Dedicated as I am at the moment to the Quins cause I will not have the p!!ss taken out of me by the club I give up my own personal time to support. Unless someone has a change of heart in the next couple of weeks and decides that there will be a reduced walk up price for the League game (this will help out the Saints fans scheduled to arrive just for the League game as well ) I will be going to work and trying to get an internet connection and cheering the lads on from afar !

Jesus wept....I was only pointing out the difference between cash strapped and on the bread line. Bottom line is you are getting the opportunity to see 2 games for £25 instead of £40. OK....if you don't want to watch Union, then either spend some time in Richmond or Twickenham, get to the bar early so you get a good view of the Grand National then take your seat for the League. If you can't afford the £25, then stay at home and watch it. I am amazed at the number of households in the UK that claim to be suffering poverty but have a sky dish on the roof BTW.
If you really feel that Quins RL are taking liberties, then contact the club and let them know......
FFS....It was so much easier having a go at the club rather than defending them

| No-one's claiming poverty, I'm just claiming that an extra £70 as it would be my case is a bridge too far.
I will be contacting the club, and I will be watching it at home. First time I've watched a game against Quins/ Broncos at home since 2003 but there you go.

| I would just like to know why we are being forced to pay £10 more than fans of other clubs to sit in the very same seats.
We will NEVER go to Quins to watch a match again mistakes I can forgive Ripoffs I can't!!!
