Good question. Certainly wasn't because we were excessively dirtier or poorer disciplined than they were. The opposite if anything if you consider the nonsense that went on after tackles were complete.

Thankfully yesterday happened and proved my point for me. Get a decent ref and put in a decent performance against a better side and you have a chance of a win. But if everything is being given against you, and virtually nothing for you, there's little you can do except damage limitation.

Off the top of my head.....

We drew with FC at Griffin Park due to an error at the end of the game by Ganson. Dennis Moran was clear one on one, chipped the FB and was pulled back as he chased the ball........
We lost heavily to Leeds at the Stoop as Quins after leading at Half time because Bentham only gave Webb 10 minutes instead of a red for an awful head high DELIBERATE hit on McLinden...Webb scored twice when he came back on and McLinden didn't get a penalty try which was warranted.

Referees have a massive impact on the outcome of games. If Catalan had beaten Wire last week it would have been 100% down to them messing about at the PTB. Even the head of the referees commented on it.

Nope, referees don't miss tackles or score tries, but they do influence the outcome of games and the best refs are the ones who seem even handed throughout a season.......Ashley Clown was pretty good at it.

One error as you say by Mr Ganson in a draw, what about the other 79 minutes 55 seconds in the game. One incident is not the game folk conveniently forget that, it's quite funny that people think one incident decides a game what about all the other points that teams concede.

Nope......NEVER!

But an error that cost us the points - and an error that was seen live on TV! I know they're human and I know they make mistakes but I thought the whole point was you trained them to the highest standards, you give them capable assistants, and if possible you give them technology to minimise the mistake count. It's when the errors that are obvious to everyone in the stadium bar the ref that I get annoyed!
