Strange, lots of our forums only get busy in adversity. They then go quiet as things improve.
There's tumbleweed on The Leopards' forum and was a stampede on The Scousers' forum earlier this week.
Explain! Limit 3,000 words.'"
I think we are all a bit deflated after last week's semi-final defeat to Fax.

| Quote: orangeman "Back at Plough lane now after the summer tour of other grounds, so hopefully we will see some 4 figure gates, but currently we have had 7,127 announced for 6 games with the crowd against Barrow in May still unreported. That's 1,187 as a reported average for those 6 games so about £4,000 per match on ticket revenue more than we were getting at trailfinders pre C19 or Plough Lane/Ebbsfleet last year.
The desired 65,000 over 13 home games a season is someway off but it is tracking up some 24% on last season and hopefully the discounted gold lounge is helping pay the rent as well.
I'm often the first and most vocal to bash the club but I feel this boost in games as well as the performance of the squad are deserving of some praise although there's part of me that think both upturn have more to do with luck than careful planning
Interesting analysis, it has been hard to gauge any uptick in supporters numbers this season.
As you say, some improved performances and a little bit of a cup run may have helped. I am actually looking forward to heading back to PL tomorrow, as much as it is a double edged sword in many ways.

Yeah, despite it being a much bigger faff for me to get to PL than Ebbsfleet I’m looking forward to us being back at ‘home’

I agree. The result was right but when you get to a home semi final and lose, that’s a massive missed opportunity. For me coming sixth not seventh doesn’t really mitigate. Anyway another hour and a half journey should get me to the Cherry Red where hopefully we beat York and put in a good performance. In all the misery I forgot to say how well Walker played against Fax. Very confident under the high ball and more positive in his running.

I think it was Johnson who said anyone who is tired of Tooting Broadway is tired of life. Or something like that.

I agree I can’t tell whether we have more support than last year. I think the move to the East? Stand has worked and atmosphere is better and the ‘fan zone’ if not a roaring success looks less thrown together and chaotic than last year where they basically just opened the gates. I remain unconvinced by the merits of the move though. A three quarters empty ground will always lack atmosphere to some degree.

| Well, that was rubbish.
Even Wakefield and Cornwall managed to win this afternoon.

| Unnecessary loss and, in the end, a heavy one. We are clearly not a wet weather side. Plenty of effort, knocked on the door a lot but not enough cutting edge and too many errors. We gifted them tries. Again slow start to second half. I thought their 7 had a good game with the boot and they have a few big units but I’m far from convinced they should beat us at home. Oli L 18th man today. Generally I think having a decent squad now allows rotation and Thats a good thing. I thought Norman who took over kicking duties was more of a threat with kicks in game but we didn’t make the pressure count. Really disappointing.
Should add I think it was a decent crowd but I’m now over this idea that it’s Ok for away fans to be mixed in with us. They should be allocated an area where they can chant come on York Knights to their hearts content without annoying me.

| Yes too many handling errors. York coped better with the conditions.

| On the topic of crowd numbers I assume we are getting more attendees than Ealing in 2017 & 2018? I'm not seeing too many Ealing regulars that I recognised at PL so is it a largely different audience?

The Ronan Michael/Ukuma Ta'ai interchange caused us problems in every game we've played against them this season and did so again today. Shifted the momentum I thought and set a good platform for their halves.
Henry going off injured certainly threw a spanner in the works and we seem to have settled into becoming very dependent on Corey to pull off a miracle kick every end of set.

| Despite a good start ( early try, forcing York to drop out a number of times) we never really looked like we were going to make the most of our chances today.
Rushing the play in those weather conditions was bound to lead to handing errors.
When we got near their line we just didn’t look to have the means to break through, and yes we gifted York their tries.
Being nilled in the second half- as miserable as the weather!

yea we have been to 3 games total at PL since the move, and unfortunatly have found other things to do now on sundays. Its possible we might start going more regulary but right now don't really see it. I think I'd need to see a complete shift in ownership for me to start to think about attending more than the odd game.
Would have gone to the SF if it had been on a Sun, but could not make the Sat
