Jeez, we've no money, no fans, we're in a RL outppost and being funded by one man who is past retirement. Furthermore, even if we had the funds, the full salary cap isn't enough to put us on a par with the top teams (and we're likely to go out of business within 2 years).

Apart from that, it's all good...

This has always been potentially the best RL coaching job in the world. Why? coz we have 10million potential fan base within an hours drive with no SL competitors.

If RL did take off in London it would, purely on its spending power, dwarf any other operation by a factor of 5. It would take a visionary owner, a visionary coach and the magic ingredient.

That is why London is so special................................

Sorry to be pessimistic but these last 7 years have seen all hope and optimism drain from me.

All it takes is someone with ridiculous amounts of money and we could become the Man City of RL. Not that daft with so many billionaires in London!

I agree with that completely! but currently to come in and turn it around you also need some talented mew players if we are going to compete with Wigan, Warrington, St Helens & Leeds, will we be able or DH to deliver that as well? Will it also be so easy to find another Millionaire??

As a club we have to make a move now to compete with the best especially now that Maurice Watkins has asked in the review for the RFL that promotion & relegation should be returned & also a possible reduction in the number of clubs!

Thing is though, according to DH, we have spent the same as St Helens. That leads you to wonder how the Norther clubs manage to stretch their budget so far.

We need a billionaire who is willing to bend the rules and pay players a load of their salary in cash or in an off-shore bank account. That way we can compete.

But did St Helens start off with a better base, with the talent they had at the end of last season than we did & has everyone fulfilled their potential we signed?

Seriously, I get where your coming from jaybs and agree Sts were obviously in better shape than us before the start of the season and yes, I think it's fair to say a lot of our players have not played to their potential.

However, the top clubs have loads of internationals in their squads and can afford the luxury of resting their best players here and there. Just compare our squad with the likes of Wire and Wigan and tell me that you honestly think they have cost the same.

Of course, what doesn't help us is that the cost of housing our team is included in the cap, so that has a big detrimental effect on our spending power.

And they say they want London to succeed...
