| Quote: meliferra "The planning permission isn't temporary, it's permanent.
Yes Barnet FC are committed to moving back to Barnet, but the stadium won't be coming with us and will remain for London Bees and international teams training for Wembley games plus Broncos if they stay. Also regardless of whether Barnet FC get a new stadium in Barnet, the Hive will remain our training facility and there is no way TK will want to dismantle what he has already built.
The Back2Barnet campaign has slowed from it's original push 12 months ago so I don't expect Barnet FC to be going anywhere in the next 5-10 years. There are a lot of hurdles to overcome before South Underhill can be turned into a new stadium for Barnet FC, both political and practical.'"
Yep to all of that.
A 20-year (or similar) deal would be great for all concerned, I think.
Would love to hear an announcement and then a membership push for 2015 asap.

Agreed.
And this thread could then be renamed to "Homeless in 2035", and we could all stop worrying about it for nearly 20 years which would comfortably see me out.

| It would be great for London community rugby league if that 20 year deal included the U19's playing at the Hive too.
Plus maybe the London junior & senior grand finals / representative games?
Would continue to strengthen the great gains that Joey has made with community clubs in 2014?

Let's hope so, used to really enjoy the U19 games at the Stoop a few seasons back - often they were more enjoyable than the first team ones!
Would be a great idea to hold the community finals at the Hive too

Black Backgrounds/Zoot.gif Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

Speak for yourself - I'll only be 83 and looking forward to having more years of whining, wingeing and complaining ahead of me

Steady in pete. We are still reliant on hughes and central handouts and the second of those drops by 750k in 2016......we still may be buggered.

"Over the last decade we have had a lot of change and lost a lot of support base," he said.
"We are trying to work out what the best plan is, where we can have a headquarters for a longer period of time, rather than a year-by-year or two-year plan. It is certainly something that is in motion at the moment. '"

It took us 2 years to find the hive...lets hope Hughes manages to secure the 20 year deal to stay there.

As a SL club we are dead and buried. Without sl football the fans will dwindle in numbers. Without the fans the club will be even more dependent on Hughes.
Doesn't mean the club won't exist or that I won't follow them.....but as a top tier team we are dead and buried.

| Thank goodness for that reply, was getting worried that you had all of a sudden become all positive about life, good to see the negativity has Benn restored.

No Michael. I want Hughes to pay 2 million for a 20 year lease as by way of apology for utterly destroying the club in record time.
As for the negativity....we finished dead last and were relegated. We will now play in a lower division until the rfl change the insane 888 system regardless of the enthusiasm of a 2nd tier coach who has signed a load of mates to the club, including a retired blokwe who was a miner. Excuse me for not being delighted with what has unfolded at the club

| By the way Michael.....looking like wasps will be buying a stadium for just over twice what Hughes wasted over the last 6 years. Given they are a total basket case in union it shows how badly we've been managed by the broker and his cricketing administrators.
