Two weeks ago I made the journey from Luton to Rainham (Kent) on a Sunday. That train goes through Blackfriars, where it connects with the train to Sutton, which is the train that stops at Haydons Lane.
So I am sure the journey can be done on a Sunday.

Looking at the blocks available to members around 200 or so seats seem to be booked for the opening game. Some of those are aisle seats potentially blocked for some reason.
I suspect the whole crowd could currently fit in two blocks.

Just be careful which Sutton train you catch at Blackfriars. You want the one via Wimbledon. The line is a loop after Streatham so you could end up with a lot longer journey. Having said that there is no harm catching the first Sutton train and changing at Streatham or earlier.
On average I'd say that no trains run to Haydons Road due to weekend line closures once per month.

Oddly despite being 200 miles further away your journey may only be 2 hours longer than mine such is driving across London.
M6, M40, M25 to J10 then A3 for you I think.

DC We never know all the circumstances and moving away from support network always difficult especially during the cold and miserable winter but 10s of thousands of 18 & 19 year olds have been doing it for decades when going to Uni and, in fairness he comes from Wigan and has been playing a 2 hour journey away in Cumbria so I don’t think Coleman can have foreseen that a 3 and a half hour journey would be his tipping point.
The annoying thing is looking at our squad I assume money is an issue so paying someone 3 months salary to keep fit and learn our tactics before, inevitably, turning out against us later in the season isn’t great.
I also note the reference to someone “stepping up” to cover him. With a few exceptions I think a significant proportion of our squad will need to step up in any event so that’s a worry.

Its not just the distance in terms of travel. Everything is much more expensive here in the south. Paying £7 a pint vs £2 a pint for instance. So whatever wages he was on would be in real terms 1/2 vs being on same wages in Cumbria. I think some of the northen lads who come down here really don't understand how much more everything costs down here

If that is the case Crash, do they not bother to do due diligence on rents & other costs? When we started this journey in 1980, that sort of information would not have been that readily available but today it's all on line so no excuse for not knowing & signing or not signing a contract on that basis.

| I would imagine that they probably don't do any due diligance to be honest. Just see it as another transfer

Its a young northern rugby league lad, not effing PWC
At best his due diligence would comprise the quality of birds to root.

Lets face it, we had issues with soft northern mummy's boys when we were top flight paying a decent wage....a hardcore of 250 fans in a part time set up with a third tier squad and a third tier coach and his brother is hardly a draw card.
I can see us getting hammered on Sunday in front of a crowd well short of the number promised to Hughes when this move was routed.....dummy spit by easter?

Might explain why the Thameslink website is saying no available trains!

A picture posted on FB of the fans thing shows beer at £5 a pint at the stadium....that's not bad given it's a captive audience.
