I'm guessing sending a buy a ticket plea to someone they had banned may have focused their minds...
Interesting to see they seem to have given up on long standing fans who, for whatever reason, were not season ticket holders last season. Not sure that's wise but hey ho.
As others have said, it's time for action not words. Fingers crossed they can sort this mess out.
Best wishes to WQ too.

| I hope those who attended at least got a couple of pinta and a bag or pork scratchings, because reading that, it just seems like a total and utter waste of time.
Bad comms: consolidation of multiple data, de-duping, ping resting and then one email saying "you are receiving this because you've communicated with the club in the past. If you no longer wish....." Job done. 15 minutes Data work, 15 minutes prep and send work.
Part-time: we know Hughes ploughs loads in...we know funding is being slashed and we already knew that the team being crap this year has peed Hughes off so he's pulled funding....AKA another frking dummy spit.
Marketing: Community, family, alcohol free, community, music 80's (bradford bulls circa 2013 anyone) beer festivals, street food......blah blah blah....this is all stuff the club should have been doing for decades .....why has it taken 20+years for the penny to drop?
Same , different stadium.......I'm happy to be proven wrong but it's not often I am when it come to this club

| The missive from the club fails to address (i) why they have been shedding fans for years (ii) how they will make the target audience aware of games (iii) that new fans will probably only watch a team once and (iv) that DH has never invested in marketting before so what will be different this time

Still no response to my correspondence Monday, I have supported the Club in all it's guises, since the first match at Fulham, sponsored first team players, Academy players, match balls, merchandise, but I have to read the email here sent to supporters?

Yup.
I think there is probably some merit in them putting some kind of stock take/wrap up/looking forward statement on the website. Along the lines of:
Season hasn’t gone well - ( I’d gloss over whose fault that was) Perhaps acknowledge the squad was paper thin and back room staff non existent but say we have learnt from experience and with massive financial uncertainty they took a risk adverse approach.
Admit the way they handled the TO away game was a shambles and contributed to the humiliation of not getting into Play offs.
Say -We’re looking ahead positively.
We have a new coach in place ( I’d gloss over his pedigree as an unsuccessful L1 manager with significant other responsibilities- is not a deputy head job a full time post? And then there is the Jamaican national team in a WC year.)
We have a new ground ( gloss over the crippling expense)
We know crowds have dropped but we’re going to engage with supporters families whatever ( gloss over the fact the drop is over 50% on the previous year and the effort to get it to something normal will require skills previously unseen)
Something on actively recruiting and retaining and getting in staff to deliver high quality on and off pitch.
Something moderately honest - it’s going to be a difficult year but with your support we can have good times again.
Thank Danny, TT. Thank the players who are retiring Olson (I assume) and those leaving GR, Fozzie and the loaners.
Then they should get off the pot until it’s time to tell us about the players they have retained and recruited.

| As I was writing that I can see the club have served up Will Lovell so deliver a lite version of my suggestion. It turns out it was the players not delivering and injuries.
Hopefully the club will follow up with an equally honest appraisal of where they went wrong.
PS I think Lovell is quite a good spokesman for the club and has had a decent season. I work on the basis he is staying but, quite literally, who knows.

I suppose it depends on Lovell having a second source of income as to him staying.
I'm sure if offered a full time gig elsewhere he'd take it.

I assumed he would stay full time either in actuality or via some dubious part time role for the club - comms assistant or some such. You may well be right though as I assume you can only train full time if the manager is full time- and he isn’t.
It’s odd but we appear to have bypassed the hybrid model pretty much all the other contenders are using and gone straight to a part time model. I can’t believe that York, Bradford and Rovers don’t have full time players. Surely Kieron Dixon didn’t leave London for a lesser salary in York. it’s a nice city ...but even so. Is Alex Walker on a part time salary at Rovers? So basically all our players now need to go and get a trade or fix up some part time job ( do they know what days Broncos will need them) and then if they can’t decide if they can live on half salary. The only this would work is if most have them have been sourcing jobs for some time ....which may explain our dodgy results if they have been missing training to sign up with job agencies or universities etc.
The whole thing is crackers.

I can shed some light on Kieran moving to York.
Yes he did take a lesser salary to play for them. Significantly less.
His girlfriend lives in Hull and he wanted to move up there to be with her.
What is more, he does not have a job in addition to playing rugby.

Ahh it makes sense now.
I was just watching a highlights reel of his on You Tube and in essence one of the comments was fromJason Ls son who said his dad was Dixon’s agent and I was thinking - how did it come about that we lost one of our best players to what looked like a lesser team.
Makes the decision not to publicly thank him on website all the more small time.

I believe his wife/sister works for the club in some capacity...or is that a coincidental name match

Agree fully that Will is an ideal spokesman for The Club, good image, and one we need to use in local media.
Received my email with the supporters consultation meeting report, this afternoon, be interesting the next meeting in October what progress is made speaking with supporters. Just wish I was nearer to attend, but a 500 mile round trip for a meeting?
