| As a Palace fan living on the South coast near Brighton, two of those stadiums would be good for me.

As for it being pointless Listy.....what would you suggest for the visits of say Salford, Catalans or Huddersfield next year? All 3 have an average of sub 3k at the stoop since 2006.....why not take a game on-the-road and try and get a few thousand curious locals in?'"
Unless those "curious locals" are going to start travelling to The Stoop to watch further games I don't see the point. Given the amount of effort that will have to go into attracting a crowd to a one-off venue, I'd have thought it better to concentrate on attracting more people to our regular ground, which is a better ground for us than any of the others suggested so far.
Of those listed, Orient is the only remotely sensible suggestion in terms of size and location. Brighton is fifty miles away, Gillingham isn't much closer and is one of the last towns in the Home Counties I'd want to visit in any case, Upton Park has about 35,000 seats and Selhurst Park is also far too big, although convenient for me personally.
What's the point in rebranding the club as London Broncos if we're immediately going to start playing matches in other towns and cities like Brighton and Gillingham? It sounds like yet more of the muddled thinking that has already plagued the club for so long.

London.
The only point that I can see in this exercise would be to test the water for moving the whole operation in a few years time, though I'm not convinced that a couple of one-off matches would achieve much at all. Presumably if one or the other is deemed "a success" then it would be repeated in future years (assuming we're still at The Stoop).
On the bright side, Milton Keynes now seems to be well off the radar.

| Although the Stoop is a great stadium and very handy for me, The club are obviously with the RFL looking at having a London Franchise in its own stadium. This year will be interesting on lots of fronts especially behind the scenes.

When was that said please, I missed that one. The reason I ask is that on the trip home from one away match last season a group of fans were told by someone high up in the club that Brighton and Gillingham were likely venues for the on the road games. Obviously if the club have now said they will be in London something has changed.

| It has been said on more than 1 occasion it will be East and South East London. Either way, pointless and stupid, for the reasons Prince of Denmark has stated. The club seem to be determined not to lay any routes anywhere, instead chopping and changing every single year. Look at all the big clubs and where their core support comes from - the immediate locality. Yet we are doing the opposite, taking fixtures away from a brilliant stadium, to play in completely irrelevant areas.

Gus has said the club will look at subsidised travel for ST holders....so not much if any additional cost to you to travel....somewhere different to have a pre/post match pint and a chance to spread the word......and if it's the price of the RFL giving the club exposure like that seen at Wembley, then it's a price worth paying IMO.
BTW....the 3 teams named above got a total of 6,650 fans combined to the stoop last year.....if done properly, you might see that crowd for just 1 OTR game....and I assure you you'll get more than the 2,216 average whether it's done properly or not
So your solution to improve attendances at games that classically don't attract many supporters is to move the game to the other side of London? Good lord. Having been to a few away games in the past, I have noticed that whenever we are in town, the opposition undertake all sorts of initiatives to get supporters to the match, none of which involve changing the venue.
I couldn't care less about the cost of travel. I go to home games because I like watching Rugby League at The Stoop, not at the bloody Valley or the Matchroom Stadium. Taking St Helens games to Widnes did them a world of good didn't it? And before you point out that a trip to Widnes isn't particularly appealing, neither is a visit to SE7, especially if your only good reason for going is to have a different place to go for a beer before and after the game.
So, going by your theory, the 'thousands of curious locals' that turn up from the Charlton area to watch our wonderful match against Salford (electric atmopshere obviously) do what - all come flocking over to Twickenham to watch more games?
It's the most illogical move by the club since the season ticket debacle (on going).

Um, I was afraid someone would ask that. It's been said in one communication from the club in the last couple of weeks, but I can't find it now. So, you'll just have to believe, or not, me and Lister. Sorry.

| I went on the website yesterday to buy ST for next year and it was about as clear as mud. I spent 10 minutes on it and I came away with no idea what a ST costs and where I can sit. Really really poor. I will get one but Im too impatient for that cr*p for now. I dont mind waiting for the website to be updated properly but dont launch the ST like that. Grrrr.
Btw I thought we had to leave London during Olympics? Hence a couple of otr games.

Seriously.....99 quid and sit where you want....it only becomes an issue if we hit 7 or 8k at a game...
On the road games, like them or not will boost the seasons average attendance as well as spreading the game....ticking an RFL box and getting us one step nearer to 3 more years in 2014....
....but you'd rather we ger 2K and change at the games I mentioned, because you like the stoop.
