You really are hard work!
Of course they should be trying to get people in throughout the season but not by pissing off the hard-core season ticket holders. They should always have the best deal for stumping up cash at a time when cash flow is at its poorest. I haven't bothered to do the maths to see how much worse off a ST is compared to the various deals but if you could have watched all season for less than a ST then that is wrong. I suppose they could give each ST holder 2free passes to the Holy Grail of Broncos supports, The Gold Lounge.

| Can anyone remember if gates fell off last season after the (overly) lengthy absence from PL? This season it feels like they have despite a big upturn in performance. Do we have any actual figures for gates? We’re guessing. Around 300-350 but gates may have been bigger. No harm in them making offers although undercuts ST a bit value for money wise but I figure those who buy ST probably accept the hit and will buy anyway. The bigger point is that the absence from PL does seem to stall crowd growth. Only hope is big push at start of the season and a team ready to go and impress from game one and hope people come back.

| DC maybe do the maths then. It's a few quid difference. I assume you are a ST holder and Yr pissed off as you put it? Will it stop you buying a ST in what ever form it is next year, that's the acid test. As BT has suggested the numbers seem to have dropped the past few games, if they hadn't dropped then the club would have not had to have in effect a sale. Had the club not done anything then they would have been getting slated for it, the fact they have done something, guess what yep they are getting slated.
They are already doing it with bring a mate for free, last game of season just make it free entry for everyone if its going to get bums on seats

| If the club is going back to season tickets they will need to be upfront about where all home games will be played. Personally I wouldn't buy one not least since it is pretty much guaranteed that bigger discounts would come along. Unlike I do with some other sports clubs I support I'm not inclined to see a ST to the Broncos as a donation while Hughes is still at the helm. Also one of the advantages of a ST used to be your allocated seat but finding a decent seat at PL is never going to be an issue.

| Yesterday apparently was an improvement on bums on seats, is it possible that was down to the ticket bundle option encouraging a few more folk in?

The Jarrod Basset fan club and the coach load of away fans made the most difference to the numbers yesterday.
If it was the "Ticket bundle", all well and good.

| Then the way ahead is clearly to grow the Jarred Basset fan club as that's likely to be easier.

Extensive poster campaign at Sheperds Bush Walkabout should see us reach 5000 this time next year.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/ ... gue-return
What are peoples thoughts on this?
Ostensibly a pretty positive and accurate article, however I did find the lines from Mike regarding pathways investment interesting;
"The expense that goes into that is enormous: what David puts into London having an academy would arguably get a Super League team through to a Challenge Cup final in terms of spend. David is pumping what other owners invest all over the club solely into an academy."
I don't necessarily disagree with his point and I think the club can point to success in bringing through our own. Interested to how accurate the comparison is however.

If that statement from Cake is true (which seems rather unlikely to me) then results this season would suggest he is not getting a good return on investment.

Academy and reserves (possibly interchangeable) have been getting pumped this year (you often learn more from a loss but a monstering not so sure) and doesn’t seem to have been a very busy fixture list. With putting younger players out to Skolars now gone (although if the chat was true our request for money for players with limited experience might have done that already) and noting that our recent elevated academy players have mostly had some game time but a move up the table and a more competitive squad has reduced that game time significantly. On paper looks a great idea to invest for the future but the reality this season the pathway from Academy to 1st team looks a little grim. Wonder how many we will give contracts to.
