By the way our try came because he played advantage from a late tackle!'"
Funny how the Sky Team and the majority of Broncos fans do not agree with comments about the tackle Sky are saying it was a late tackle. With severity of the result of the tackle he should of been sent off. This is not the first time Moa has badly injured one of our players he did it when he played for Hull and got a three match ban.

| Quote: nadera78 "When you have a weak ref in charge - for any sport - experienced players recognise it immediately and take advantage of it. And that's what Catalans did last night. The slowed every ruck, they were not onside for one single tackle, and eventually Moa took advantage of it in the most gruesome way. The hit on Abdull was late, it was to the head, and it was against a defenceless man. There's a video on twitter - and it's an ugly, ugly hit. A cowardly hit.
Even then the ref only got involved because Pelissier jumped in and it forced him to stop the game. Otherwise he wasn't going to do anything. And he still took the advice of Tomkins and Bird before making a decision.'"
Great post Catalans are always in the REFs ear.

Missed god knows how many forward passes and at least half a dozen late tackles on our players.

| Both the supposed ref and touch judges were totally inefficient. Fighting broke out because of the weak idiot in the middle who should not be allowed to pull on a ref's shirt again. Catalan were allowed to get in the idiots ear all evening and they were actually reffing the game not the middle man in the yellow short. (I wont call him a ref as this degrades all decents refs throughtout the game). Time and time again one of our players were taken out after the play the ball, time and time again they were held down to make sure they could not get a quick play of the ball. He needed to notice two teams on the pitch not just one. It is the first time in 27 years of watching rugby that I have seen security requested for the ref, why was that? Every ref at a Broncos game has never felt he needed added security. Why did our fans boo the Cats of the pitch, again in all my years I cannot remeber a team being so badly booed at the end of the game, A few jeers now and again but nothing compared to last night. Why supposedly did a fight break out with the players AFTER the final whistle. Again this is something I have never seen. We probably lost the game through our own mistakes but it was not helped by losing our game player and in such a manner and with the injustice of the 10 min sin bin when it should have been red. . Our game turned drastically after that brutal cowardly attack. On this one occassion I do not blame the players for losing the game as even though they are profesionals it must have upset them to see their mate in such a bad way I blame the officials.

You can see from the Sky highlights that it is a late swinging arm to the head. More appropriate for the boxing ring really.

| The touch judges do not call forward passes, they advise the ref and the ref and only the ref can call forward. Same with judging late tackle, the touch judge advises the ref, he then decides if it warrants a penalty.

| Just watched the replay, put my hand up, have to agree it was contact with the head with his arm. Was he already committed? Not making excuses for Moa but look at full pace It looked like it! Should it have been red for contact high? Fact Abdul stayed down sadly isn’t a factor in the decision, maybeit should be.

| Be interesting to see what disciplinary panel decide, but again they look at the offence alone not the outcome.

Pedantic like all of your posts the idiots which ran the line did not call the forward passes and late tackles or the idiot in the middle ignored their calls. That would make a lot of calls he ignored.

| Why are you blaming the officials? From what I saw the broncos had no idea and looked like a bunch of players not knowing how to play attacking rugby. Without the officials no game would take place, rather than blaming them, the issue is with the organisation of the team on the field.

| Are you northernblokes twin brother. The team were quite poor in passing and handling the ball and we need a couple of big angry mongrels and a new half but we have what we have and they play with their hearts. I won't slag the team off because of results. If we are honest it was expected and we dared to dream.

| Why is it pedantic? Merely pointing out the role of the tj, how do you know they didn't call fwd passes?
And how would you know if the ref makes the call
I do find it quite interesting that you will not slag the team off for losing? That's quite an odd approach! It's the players who drop the ball, who slow the ptb, who are offside. Not the ref, not Danny ward, not DH

You moan at other people for going off thread but you do exactly the same thing, this thread is about Referees not about how the team played. If you would like my opinion on how the team played I will give it to you. Up until the Abdul incident I thought they were playing reasonably well I was not thinking we were going to win the game but there was a little bit of hope that we might just pinch a result at the end of the day. After the incident I thought we had no chance of winning, we had no direction we were making to many mistakes we were running sideways a lot of the time and we could not get over the try line. I would question how would the game of gone if the referee had taken charge from the start, how disheartened did the team become when they lost Abdul and Pelisser at the same time (the play maker and the hooker) what position should Cuningham have taken hooker or halfback? I feel that all Catalans games should have one of the top referees because they always try and referee the game and they will play like thugs if the referee lets them get away with it. I will also add that I have never seen Jay Pitts question the referees decisions so much during a game.

| I never complain about going off thread. And fwiw it was not me that took it off thread.
The hassle after the game was kenny Edwards trying to get at elois, obviously some bad blood there. Not sure if you saw it but there was an incident in the bench area just after the sun bin involving Edwards.
As for Catalans having a go at the ref, bird was pretty quiet from what I saw.
That game was bubbling quite a lot in the second half and very easily could have kicked off again, have you thought why not?
Credit to Sam Moa and elois though, when they came back on they just got on with playing rugby.
