Not sure about this. Biggest game in ages was last week's. Dixon did fine despite the dodgy floodlights which I assume made catching the high ball more tricky. Which big games are you thinking of ?

| I don't agree on Dixon, a lot of games he makes mistakes in the first half and then a great second half. I refer you to the key Featherstone match, the Widnes match and the Leeds game. Perhaps northernbloke is thinking of the Challenge Cup with Hull KR of which there is a painful Kieran Dixon highlight reel available on YouTube.
He's a mecurial player that comes up with a special play every game. Sometimes I think he is prone to a little bit of self-sabotage, almost as if he needs to dig his way out of a ditch!
I agree he was great under the high ball against Halifax. Praying he grabs one or two trademark interceptions on Sunday!

| Wantawin, what gardener said suggested these were 2 new touch judges, what’s pedantic about telling him actually they are v experienced grade 1 touch judges just newest ranks to join full time?
When Dixon came back from KR, what happened? His first game back was a mare, he ended up getting dropped, his confidence was shot!
I stick by it, if he starts well, takes his first high ball cleanly he generally goes on to have a good game.
If he fluffs his first one as stated he is prone to self sabotage and struggles.
Am not saying he is not a good player, merely his confidence can go very quickly.

| Ok open question?
The two touch judges doing the game in Toronto on sat! Are they new touch judges? Or are they experienced grade 1 touch judges!

| The actual point is.
There are 3 games this weekend. Only one has 3 full time officials appointed, actually 4 if you include PB is the MPG.

Whilst we need to defend like we did against Salford, and attack as we did against Toulouse , most of all we need the ref to stand up to the Wolfies' underhand stuff, constant backchatting etc..
If he let's them bully him we're boned.

I'd really hoped we'd get Ben Thaler for this one - he didn't take any nonsense from them in the Challenge Cup. How long did that muppet McCrone think he could get away with mouthing off before he got sent t'bin!

| I can only see a Toronto Wolf Pack victory, but it could be closer than some people think

| Hoping dragon gets the ball a bit to run it into Mason canton-brown, reckon that could be an interesting tussle. On the other wing Dixon, went for a couple of intercepts last week, last tackle against Halifax, he needs to make them stick or preferably just make the tackle. Don’t want to be giving em starting sets near the line. Hoping he can find some space to run though.
Ball retention is going to be important, against Widnes completion rate was up above 80% they need to be hitting that.
Few showers forecast which might give it a different dimension.

| Dixon was a bit of a scapegoat at Wembley, at least he tried, unlike some of our team I could mention. Unfortunately he's not big enough or confident enough for SL.
Good luck in the MPG, I think you're going to need it. But here's hoping you turn them over (like you were cheated out of, a couple if weeks back). FWIW I predicted Toronto would choke like Leigh did in 2015 and I still do.

| Anyone got an idea what the weather's going to be like out there?
Was hoping it might rain because one, it will be a bit of a leveller and two, I thought we played our best game in years against Salford in what were truly atrocious conditions!

| Thunderstorms and heavy rain on Saturday, with light rain on Sunday. Sunday will be a lot cooler.

cartoons/WB24.gif Life is pretty simple: You do stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works.:cartoons/WB24.gif |

Not sure I want us reduced to their level. Think we play better without that.
