| Quite right CMG. The RFL will have to treat Toronto as any other club, if they as expected make the 8s. Should the traveling be too much, bad luck.

| Why is early Feb and march a non starter? There pitch has an inflatable cover that goes over it, keep it covered when the snow is falling then drop it for the games. Put money on Akers gets more time in wigan with his family playing for Toronto than he did with london.

| As for batch of games in Canada, I think they played in batches of 4 does that not equate to one month?
I would hope that next year the fixture list is as it should be, not with Toronto getting groups of games home and away.
I suspect however the RFL will bend to what they want it's the bright new hope for the sport don't forget

| Let us not beat around there. Andy Ackers has been tapped up by Toronto. He should have come out and done the decent thing and said that he had had a good offer from Toronto and wished to leave.
To use the old, London is too expensive, I miss my family and then sign for a club that plays on a different continent is rather pathetic.

We're not all Southern Softies: |
|
| Absolutely gutted to lose these two players but I thank them for their time with us.
Hope William goes on from strength to strength at his new club, he's got such talent.
Wonder if we could tempt Brad Dwyer back to London again?

1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |

| Really disappointed to lose these two players, they have been important this season and we were still no quite there, like others to say about wanting to return home and join a club on the other side of the world, is a big let down.

So just tell the truth! Ackers is taking a great career opportunity that allows him to spend a bit more time (not a great deal more) up North. I don't have a problem with that. I have a problem with the released on compassionate grounds bull. You might believe that Ackers completed a deal from start to finish with Toronto one day after his release. I don't.

| I don't think anyone thought he asked to be released to go work in b and q he was released because he wanted to be closer to home.
Playing for london he spent Feb to Sep in london with the odd break here and there. Playing for Toronto Feb to Sep he will spend at least half that time at home with his family, can't see what's wrong with that.

These Northerners are rather prone to a bout of homesickness... And they call us the Southern Softies.

| Lol problem is when you move between wigan Leeds Hudds etc you don't have to up sticks and move house. To play in london it's not really commutable is it? Upping sticks and moving the family lock stock is financially a massive ask for a rl player or any of us whippet strokers to manage. Remember we lost Paul Sykes because of the same reason many years back, his family were still up north.
Re Toronto, anyone know how they run things? Has anyone said they will get the grouping of games like last season? Do the squad decamp to Toronto as a whole group for that 4 weeks? Where do they base themselves when in the uk
I know as the season went on the accommodation for the visiting teams dropped in standard, some clubs complained being in what was student accommodation at the end.
