2nd competitive game for an almost new look side against the team that are odds on to push us all the way for 1st, yet still came away with the victory in a below par performance. How many times are you hoping we'll be picked off?

This team is still to get in to its stride, and we'll be very hard to beat in another 5 games or so when the team comes together more.

In one breath you say its a new side that has hardly plaid in the other its under performance, How do you know??

Because the potential is there for all to see. This team plays at a quicker pace then that of our SL class of 2016. The potential is there, it may not get fulfilled, but going on the basis of potential, then that was a below par performance. Our second rowers for instance are proven performers at SL level and are yet to have a decent game so far, but it will come.

In reality the 50/50 calls were not 50/50 they were justified calls, we lost the game pure and simple.
but looking at the positives, if we are led to believe that KR are going run away with this comp then on todays performance we are not a long way behind. We played at a gear higher than anything last year, I think our defence was actually pretty good, and as said most tries came off the back of penalties.

But then you shouldn't be far behind, you're odds on to finish second, a full time outfit, settled squad with SL aspirations. The result today is what you'd expect of a top 2 clash, close and competitive. Good for the Championship.

Rovers were poor today , 3/10 at best , and we were probably fortunate to leave with the points.

Rest assured not only will we improve , we'll also strengthen significantly.

AS an aside does anyone know why Nigel Woods and Wayne Bennet were sat together watching the game from the stand at Trailfinders today?

Brisbane Broncos are over for the World Club Challenge. Either that or Wayne needs to ensure he knows how the Welsh and Scots players play.

I'm assuming Wood is Bennett's boss as the England coach. So if he is in UK you would expect him to 'report in'.

The penalty call on Kear for trying to milk a penalty was great - wish more refs would do that. However, a lot of high tackles from KR went unpunished, while ours did! This is not good; when player welfare is rightly an important issue, players shouldn't expect to have their heads taken off with impunity simply because the referee doesn't like teams from the south
