| On a Featherstone site, they feel that we will be a pushover, with Wes out, Slyney and Ioane not included, we have no kicker and no props.
Let them under estimate us. Do they not understand we have a squad for this very reason.
Be nice to see Israel getting his debut, let us hope he has a winning start.

On a London site, they feel that we (Fev) are "not the team we were".
Let them under estimate us.

| What will be interesting is to see how many Featherstone fans the game attracts.
It being a late kick off and having a league fixture the week after and a live feed to the clubhouse will conspire to reduce the away support.
Still it will be nice for us to be able to bring out the old chestnut for once. DID YOU ALL COME IN THE SAME CAR !!!!!!!!!!!

| Which London site? I don't think anyone on here is assuming anything. Our performances have not been brilliant so far, we have had to grind out the wins. I would not suggest that Hendo or the club did not have as much focus on the CC but with the 2 games over easter coming up it might be safe to say that may have had an effect on selection.

Exactly. Should be an interesting game, both teams look to be without 3 or 4 regulars (Briggs, Ellis, Wildie & Snitch the absentees for Fev, not sure if our captain Tim Spears will still be out), but both teams still look strong. One thing that often seems to happen in our league is that what happens one week is often no guide to what will happen later between the same two teams (look at the home & away games between our two clubs last year), so whatever Saturday's result the League game might be a different matter.

This one, and this thread! The original poster in this thread made the comment about this being a winnable game & Fev not being the team they were, then the same poster mentioned posts from our forum suggesting London would be a pushover (nobody used that word incidentally). It's a tough game to call, for me.

Yes, because of the Featherstone Lions game the travelling support from Fev for this specific game will probably be the smallest in recent history - we actually took more over to Catalans last year for the Cup game than we are likely to bring on Saturday, the Lions are a very important part of the rugby league fabric in the town.
And yes, AFAIK there isn't a supporters' coach coming down, so feel free to use the taxi jibe!

Bostwick,
Devil's Advocate here, why shouldn't Fev be confident since all they are playing against is a team that has won 5 games against sides that are in the bottom 6 of our league and had one "good" loss against the league leaders from last year during a period in which they (Leigh) were in turmoil?
Maybe you should temper your expectations?
Sits back down by the pond (or should that be taxi) and gets the fishing net out.

| So playing devil's advocate here we are playing against a team that have played 5 of which 3 were against teams in the bottom 6 in our league and were pretty soundly beaten by the team they lost too.
All in all hopefully should make for a good contest tomorrow.

All too right Micky sometimes we all expect too much, it should be a good encounter that will be quite close, I just wish I could have been there.
And roll on 10 days time for the league, hope to meet some of you folks there in 10 days.

why will I be disappointed? I'm disappointed I can't make the game, but that's it.
This is a comp we can't win, we will lose money on unless we beat London this round, win in the next round and the get a good tie against one of the big boys. So I'm more than happy to lose against London, in fact I have stated elsewhere I'd like to get bet and concentrate on the league.
As far as I'm concerned this is a win/win situation, if we win it is a marker for the league game in 9 days and if we lose it gives us the opportunity to concentrate on the league.
What I find interesting is the belief in some of the Broncos fans that London are going to rip up the league after winning 5 of their opening 6 games. I think Henderson has been very astute with his signings this year, having picked up quality championship players rather than signing world beaters, which I think is the right thing for this league. However I think London are still well behind Leigh an Bradford as are the rest in this league. I believe there is very little between Batley/Fax/Dewsbury/Sheffield/London/Fev for 3rd and 4th places in the league, Batley are in the box seat having taken points of Leigh and Bradford.
I'm am happy for you if you think London are going to find it easy against Fev however I think that you might find the reality something different, I'll be back to see what you think tomorrow win or lose. Also if you fancy meeting up for a beer before the game the game in 9 days time to chew the fat as it were feel free to PM me, more than happy to talk all things R related.

| Fevgrinder, mate trust me I don't think any of us really think we are going to rip up the league, I think a lot of us, OK a few of us, as there aren't actually a lot of us, but yep a few of us are hoping that we can have a decent season after the disappointment of last year.
We have not hit the straps yet, the team has a lot more in it, if we see it that's the challenge. As a full time outfit, in theory we should be ripping up the league, but we did get a lesson in Rugby when it was assumed because we were SL championship would be easy.
I am same mind as you though, not overly worried about the CC the league is where we need to concentrate our efforts but winning is habit so
