| Quote: markrammond "It looks like a 4 way battle to avoid relegation between Bradford, Catalans, Wakefield and London.
Having seen Bradford play I cannot see them getting past zero points in the near future with their next 9 matches including home and away games with Huddersfield whilst they also have Salford, Leeds, Warrington & Saints amogst their next 5 home games whilst they are also playing Hull KR, Widnes, Wigan all away. I'd be genuinely surprised if they get past zero prior to the end of May.
I would suggest that Catalans have an easier run of fixtures coming up with plenty of home games, however they have a lot of older imports in their 30s and a fair number of injuries to key players and I do not see them winning too many games; once their players return they will be facing harder opponents. Their home games will be key as always.
With Wakefield they are a gritty side with a bit of quality and I would expect them to pull clear of Bradford and Catalans in the coming weeks.
It looks like our three matches against Catalans, the home game v Bradford and the two matches against Wakefield are all 4-pointers.
Where I do have some hope is that we will improve, it looks like we'll have Vea next week and the top brass at the club have assured me that we are still in the market for front rowers and perhaps a halfback, though it will probably be 4 or 5 weeks into the NRL season before we'd have a good chance to make signings. I can't see us being too far adrift that is for sure.
I'm really thinking that we can stay up, perhaps I am on my own in this.'"
Well Mark I agree Bradford have a lot of tough fixtures coming up but they have some very experienced quality players despite having lost a few very good ones. On paper i'd still say they have a better team than us. They can also get better 'loan' players than us and the big clubs want them to stay up remember so will be happy to help them. They will win a few of those 9 games as one or two will have an offday against them and they are strong enough to take advantage. If a new owner comes in and they are allowed to sign players they will get some quality in that we cant attract and get a big edge over us. Our next 9 fixture include Wakey and Catalans twice. If we can win 2 of those and Bradford don't win a game then fair enough with a 6 point cushion we may stay in front of them assuming our injured players are fit and going strong then, as its keyplayers we are losing. However we seem to have a fitness problem on our hands and i don't know what the coaches can doto cerrect it. We seem to be a long way behind our oponents for somereason. Wakey have nicked some quality off Bradford (especially Summat a gamewinner) and are able to get quality loan players from their neighbours so i cant see us catching them though hoping for an upset this week. Catalans are vulnerable at the moment so if we can get ourselves fit and take 4 points off them we might have a chance but their home advantage in that heat IMO means they are bound to get a few wins over the season. For us to get the necessary wins we need our best players on the park and must get them fit. ATM Im not sure that we can get them fit. I think with Vea playing as well the quality is there though so im thinking 13th place above Bradford ATM sadly.

Happiness is like peeing in your pants. Everyone else can see it but only you can feel the warmth!: |

| From listening on the interweb at stupid o clock the wire game sounded like we have really improved. I don't think that this team will not win any sl match this year. I do still think that we are still in big trouble and there is a big risk of relegation. But there are encouraging signs on the pitch. I do feel better after the wire game, this is a look of a team that can get a whole lot better.

| Whilst I enjoyed it enough to anticipate making more visits than previously anticipated I think we have to accept that Wire were nowhere near their best. It was better than last season score wise but was that down to them or us?
I agree with Paddock we aren't top division quality. Whilst I'd rather we were, I won't get too upset about that. The reason I got an Oxford season ticket was that last season was a breath of fresh air, 17 guys giving 100%, something we hadn't seen at London for far too long. Sunday was a breath of fresh air for the same reason.
If the players keep that up they deserve my support. Be the best they can, I ask no more of them.

The inadequacies of the London Broncos RLFC in the seasons 2010/11/12/13 have very little to do with their being no p&r. 25 SL wins in the last 112 SL games are down to the Owners refusal to take advice from anyone regarding anything.......he let Mac go thinking Powell was ready.....he then took 18 months to get rid of his mistake and replaced him with another "buddy"......the last season was one where we really reaped the benefit of Hughes megalomania.....whilst 2014 is the year we can appreciate his inability to make a statement and stand by it.
By the way, this is the only year that RELEGATION will be a worry for SL clubs.....from 2015 onwards, they will have 400% more overseas players and twice the salary cap as opposed to their Championship foes in the middle 8...... chances of someone "going up" are purely based on maybe a club going pop......

| We seem to be a couple of big forwards short. Cooke and Olsi put in spell that were too long on Sun.
Atkins is a waste of a slot, wearing No 3 so was presumable our starting centre pre season. Caton Brown isnt ready for SL yet. Wire/Bridge had a field day attacking him.
Some of the attacking moves on Sunday looked good.
I dont think we have enough to stay up sadly.

| Been saying that since before the season started WQ', "we need a couple more big old ugly props".
As to the other GF', well it will be difficult for a while, because for the last few seasons the Championship clubs have been left to "whither on the vine" whilst the rest have had the benefit of Sky's millions without having to do anything.
However eventually the top end Fev', Leigh & 'Fax in particular will probably have their day. Look at other sports with P & R and it's not that unusual for some small clubs to overhawl the disadvantage, where there is a will there is a way!

Keeping Greenwood fit would help ref the forwards. If we have to wait a few weeks into the NRL season before one becomes available and THEN have to apply for a visa we will have missed the chance for some possible points against Catalans.

| It looks like we must win against at least one of Wakefield or Castleford and against Catalans to create any sort of belief in a possible escape.
I honestly think that for three of the last four halves of Rugby we have played well and we have improved from the very bad performance against Widnes. The second half against Warrington looked like an unwelcome return to the unacceptable performances shown against Leeds and Widnes away and created a bit of a sour taste. We simply couldn't contain Wire in the second half and they ran away with it in the end, which is what most expected, but it was still disappointing.
It looks like we are struggling to keep James Greenwood on the pitch when he was excellent v Bradford and have had nothing from the injured Dollapi so we are already light in the Props. I'm reassured we are still in the market and that Atelea Vea will soon be available, but we need loan signings I feel, although the 5th and 6th choice Props are unlikely to be seasoned Pros from most clubs but more youngsters.
I am stating the obvious but we cannot be going into games with a little halfback and a winger on the bench rather than the standard four forwards if we are to have anything to match the oppositions bench in the second half.
But I'm reassured having spoken to David Hughes that he genuinely is behind the club again, remember he has been involved since 1996 and that he won't see the club fold. He laid out a huge sum to clear out the club of dead wood in October and he will find more cash yet again for the right players.
Some of the people who have stopped coming campaigned against a move to Gillingham but still haven't come despite us staying within London and for me that is really bad news for the club.
This could be the last chance for many to see Super League rugby live against the better teams and they are missing out and the club is missing out.
I know that London have a lot of knockers and a lot of people who don’t come and watch us have an opinion and that carries a bit of weight in the media and with some fans. It is easy to be swayed. But if people fancy it, or to come to an away game, I am pretty much always there and everyone will be greatly welcome if they want to join us or re-join us in our battle against the drop and to retain our proud record of never finishing bottom.

| What is the situation next season regarding overseas players etc. As GF said next year the SL clubs will have an advantage over the second tier clubs because of the extra quota but is this definitely the case or will they be brought more into line?? I thought there could be a change to increase the OS quota for the second tier teams.

Good for you. He's flushed over £13,000,000 down the drain, made some insane decisions, idiotic appointments and as a result has lost the support of the MAJORITY of the fans.
Good for you that your best buddy dave has told you he's 100% behind the club........it won't stop them going down and he retires soon enough.
