Is he one of TR's big marquee signings?

| Wait til you see how Farrar goes.
He played a few games in the halves last season. Most at centre though. I remember when he tore his ACL as he was the second player to do so that day against Wests at Lidcombe Oval. Awful return to his career in Oz. It's all good now after surgery a couple of years ago.
My hunch is that Bishay has naused it up and should have come to Newtown like he was going to. Now I see him on the bench as hooker/utility as he wouldn't have known London were getting Moore, Farrar and Gigot.

Perhaps we can introduce line outs!

| Ben Farrar is a top class signing. If he can avoid injury he can be a top class number 6 --- a position he played at Catalans when they thumped Wigan at DW.

He's actually a massive risk.
He hasn't played first grade footie for over 2 years and was resigned to a season of NSW Cup football. He is a very average signing, but you are correct in that IF HE CAN AVOID INJURY, he might go well for us. What he did v Wigan seasons ago has little relevance...I believe Jamie O'Callaghan won a players award at Harlequins RL in 2011.

| Ben Farrar signed for Manly after good form in the ESL, but he did his ACL in the first game and after nearly a year out he had lost a bit of zip and never got out of the Manly reserve grade side.
Manly cut him at the end of last season and he signed for his junior club, Newcastle Wests Rosellas, in the Newcastle comp.
He actually spent the off season training with the Newcastle Knights part time squad under Fiji coach Rick Stone.
I've heard he has got most of his zip back, two years after he did his knee.
There is no way he is a halfback. Fullback is his best position. Centre next best. Wing or 5/8 at a pinch.

Total of 7 starts at 5/8th in 87 first grade appearances.....the rest were at Centre mainly, with spells at FB and Wing, although an ACL may have killed his wingers career stone dead!

| An interesting fact about Farrar, He played from under6 onwards in the Newcastle wests side that included players like Kade Snowden, Greg Inglis, Cory Paterson, Luke Walsh, James McManus, Scott Dureau, Jarod Mullen. He joined the Newcastle Knights at under 16s level with most of those guys (except Inglis who signed with the Storm and was moved to Brisbane for school).
When those guys won the under 18s title, Farrar was the guy who was immediately promoted to reserve grade, and the next year he was poached by Parramatta on a big contract. At that stage everyone thought he would be as good as his uncle Andrew.
