Coo, story Bro. I suggest you contact the club and tell them, because they probably give a . I don't.

Hey, there's a perfectly good ignore function on these forums, so instead of whining like a little bitch, I suggest you use that.....my opinion may not be popular, but I am entitled to it and it'll take more than a few supposed newbies to RL and these boards to change my stance.

Indeed.
The influx of "new RL fans" prepared to travel from Aylesbury to the Hive (52 minutes according to google) who didn't attend the stoop (61 minutes according to google) is astounding and underlines how correct a decision it was to whore ourselves to a new landlord

Do you actually know the area?
Aylesbury to Edgware is 40min by car and under an hour by train. By car the route is easy with plenty of options on the A41, M1, A5.
I used to come in on the M3 to the south circ to get to Hendon and Watford. The journey and the traffic round the M25 to the M3 or in and round the North circ means googles estimate is very optimistic and public transport would require you to travel all the way into london and back out instead of a train and a couple of stops from wembley by tube.
I think you will find plenty of people with easy access to A1, M1 and M40 will find the Hive a far more attractive prospect than the idea of a slow trip around the M25 which will require you to leave 2 hours just in case the traffic is crap (which is often the case).
So you can take your advice re times and accessibility and stick them where the sun doesn't shine.

I didn't offer any advice. I stated the travelling times as quoted by Google between Aylesbury, Harrow and Twickenham!

So let's get this straight Michael.
I am not permitted to respond to open and targeted criticism in a thread started with the sole purpose of criticising me? This really is a brave new world you live in buddy

You tried to tell someone that they were deluded in thinking that the stoop was much further away than the Hive . You tried to do it using zero local knowledge to prove a point.
I'll listen to what you have to say when you are talking about things you know, but when you try to tell someone who lives in Aylesbury how long it will take them to do a journey by using google from New Zealand then I will tell you that you are talking nonsense.
btw if you were trying to get to Harrow then you were in the wrong place as the Hive is in Edgware.

Including me. I haven't lived in London for 20 years and live in Newbury, before that I travelled from Winchester.
I really do know what I'm talking about on this. To ensure I get to a 7:45 kick off I have to be on the road before 5pm to avoid the worst of the traffic . On a Saturday I have to leave by 1pm for 3pm kick off.

Feel free to point out where exactly I did that. Shouldn't be too hard for you to find given we're only on page 3.
Quote: meliferra "You tried to do it using zero local knowledge to prove a point. '"
I don't have to live anywhere near the hive to know where it is or in fact, to type something into google and be given the information I require about the area.
Quote: meliferra "I'll listen to what you have to say when you are talking about things you know, '"
Good for you, but it bothers me not whether you listen or not....
Quote: meliferra "but when you try to tell someone who lives in Aylesbury how long it will take them to do a journey by using google from New Zealand then I will tell you that you are talking nonsense. '"
Again with this attempt to make it sound like I was giving advice? Why is that? Does it upset you that your "local knowledge" might not be as useful as you think? I am stunned that millions of visitors hit the capital each year without first "hitting you up" for advice on where to go and what to do
Slitting hairs and being pedantic won't make you right BTW......it only marginalises you further!
Tell you what though. Get yourself down to the Hive and tell them you'll hand out leaflets and help with the marketing. Not sure if they'll pay you for it though....the marketing budget given to them by the RFL is being used to ask for advice on facebook
