As I said earlier, the culture of ACCEPTABLE failure is 100% down to him.....he has systematically dodged bullets at every turn managing to blame everything and everyone for the shortcomings on and off the park.
He arrived and immediately hired his own "hand picked" team to deliver fans and sponsorship money as well as corporate hospitality growth. When that failed, he blamed the name and our colours.....and took as back to the Broncos name. When that failed, he said it was the ground/area we were playing in that was the problem....he is the master of excuses.
On the pitch, the players see ever decreasing crowds, the team being bounced around different venues, a couple of coaches that were/are incapable and senior players like Gower walking and Clubb saying he wants out...it is a poisonous and vile culture of acceptable defeat from the CEO down to the tea-boy....and The Chief Executive Officer is where the buck stops in the REAL WORLD!

my favourite part of that..
"Everyone believes that CEOs can do whatever they want, are all powerful, and are magically competent. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth"
The damage he has done to the club in 30 months is not beyond repair, but I believe it would take longer than 30 months to fix it. The best place to do that may well be the Championship

You and your impression of events of course.

If it wasn't acceptable failure, there would have been consequences before now. David Hughes walked at half time on Saturday.....I fully expected blood on the carpet first thing Monday, but no, nothing as usual.
A 70 point hammering on national TV with at most 250 travelling fans, on target for a SL record of points against in a season, a record +/- difference and the lowest average gate in the clubs history. No corporate hospitality, a fruitless 18 month search for a new home and now tales of our allies in the north becoming ed off with us as well.
I can think of no other business where a CEO sheds 40% of a companies customers and remains in a Job.......at a conservative guess, that's about 400k a year in lost revenue or 1.2 million on his watch!
Read some of the musings of Mr Gower....he didn't leave us because London had a winning culture!

Rooster, the club is not a happy place and seems not to have been for a while. I am sure you remember the especial bond that existed between the club and the fans. Sadly that has been ripped away. Broken promises along the way.

Well, we are failing in almost every aspect of on-field and off-field endeavour and nothing appears to be happening to address these failings. We had a review of on-field performances last year; this year, with worse performances, nothing.
I don't think it's particularly controversial to say that (a) the club is failing and (b) very little is being done about it.
Now, what may be happening is that the club is working like mad behind the scenes and is about to announce all kinds of new and fantastic things. Trouble is, if they wait much longer to tell us, there'll be nobody left to hear the news. As usual, it is the uncertainty that is killing the club. It is desperately sad.

Black Backgrounds/Zoot.gif Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

| I think that 250 is a VERY optimistic estimate of our support on Saturday - it wouldn't suprise me if there are more Crusaders' supporters at the Skolar's Cup Final eve game than we had at Leigh (one coach already booked just for the game plus a fair few independents oop for 't Cup).

David Hughes did when he didn't sack Rob Powell for his failures, nor Gus MacKay for his, and we the fans did when we clapped Broncos off the pitch after all their hammerings.

When the captain leaves because we don't train hard enough.

| When Kaufusi is allowed to traipse around putting in one or two decent runs per game.

To suggest a professional sporting club has a "culture of acceptable failure" is utter nonsense.
Because we are crap in various areas, does not mean we have such a culture. It's another one of your out and out statements that's eminated from your frontal lobes, which sits comfortably for you, yet none of us really knows what goes on or is going on behind the scenes.
For example I can't imagine for a moment that people like Tony Rea has a culture where is is happy that we're getting smashed or he'd be viewed as a failure, nor an owner that leaves at half time, not even a professional cricketer who has played for their country.
Being able to and having the ability to turn things around at our club is completely different from thinking we have a culture where failure is acceptable.

I actually go and watch the games and I would say there is a culture of failure. Obviously that is not by design and to some it may not be acceptable. But there is no obvious action from the top to do anything about it. You only had to watch last weeks game. No obvious plan, basic mistakes, indiscipline. From certain players it looks like a lack of effort in many games. As a club we have been distracted by problems of our own making such as finding a new ground which gives an excuse for minimal effort to attract fans to the current location.
