Very talented player that blossomed under Wayne Bennett's guidance and a game plan written around him, resulting in him playing Origin for NSW.
Things haven't gone so well for the Saints since Benny's departure, and the retirement of Ben Hornby from the 7 role has set them back further.
He has a great left foot kicking game but needs to be behind a dominant pack to give him the room to move in. Has a reputation for poor defence but I've always thought he's better than his reputation. He is ALWAYS the scapegoat for the Saints' frailties, and there are just more of them now than 3 years ago!
Think of a left footed Paul Deacon and you're not far off.

I was unsure when you get to this stage if players had to be registered before a certain date that is all! |

This from RFL regulations suggest he is ok to play
Only Players on the Register of that Club, or subject to Rule B4:10, Dual Registered with that Club at the close of RFL business on the Monday immediately prior to the Quarter Finals of the Cup shall be eligible to play in any Quarter Final, Semi Final or Final Tie. |

I hope he's more bothered about playing for us in 2013 than he was about St George.
Interesting now, I assume Witt will get shunted to scrum-half.
It's hard to get excited about a signing like this when our season is already over.
