And Wigan were playing two untested half backs. And they eased off in the second half. I noticed Gower giving his side a roasting after the first four scores, but he gave up when he got no response after that.

After todays' performance the players have no bollox, they are mere geldings.

Quote: tw15 "If England got slaughtered at soccer by Brazil, with Pele scoring a wonder goal, I don't think people would say that. Sam Tomkins was worth the admission fee alone.

I agree we are at Year Zero again. The crowds aren't big enough at the Stoop, so we've nothing to lose by restarting at the Hive. Rae has hinted at a big clear out of players. At least we've got youngsters coming through.'"

England is a different "ball game" all together! I watched Bale see us off and I enjoyed the game, it's just the scoreline difference today, now in Brazil beat England 15-1 that would be different. We have got to start again! but we need new investment! The Hive perhaps has the most potential, yes youngsters are coming through as long as we can hold on to them and Super League do not see us as the feeder club! Sam Tomkins will be a Major loss to the game if he went to Union!

"One Wigan player went down towards the end due to cramp, which shows London put in an effort. "

That is drawing a very, very long bow.

Best shout of the day from the pitch side announcer: "a substitution coming on for the Donkeys is .............." In my opinion today sums up the rumours of a move to the Hive based on having a poor team who cannot compete in SL and poor management who have failed to meet their own targets of increasing crowds at the Stoop. It is a club with a lack of ambition and sliding towards playing in the Championship. At no point as a case been made for moving from the Stoop, and it does not matter where we end up playing, nothing will change if we continue with the current club structure and personnel other than more failure.

I couldnt tell if I'd actually heard the Donkeys comment or it was my imagination as I was heading out at the time - he had it spot on. A very very good team playing a very bad one is rarely entertaining. I love seeing the top players in the sport doing what they do best, Tomkins today for example, but if they're doing it against blokes who are playing like a pub team it takes away from it all.
Anyone here get stuck in the farce at the ticket office before the game? Took me half an hour to get my tickets (which I already had, just had to pick them up) and got into the ground just before the first try. Totally amateur set up.
Looking forward to moving ground, year zero, clear out everyone whose contract is up, pray someone buys us, sacks the chief exec and everything will be fine and dandy.
One last thing - £5 in at the Skolars tomorrow with a Broncos ST or a ticket stub from today.

Wigan in general, Tomkins and Richards will not have an easier game all season!

The whole performance was an embarrassment, we had one of the worst home games I can remember in a long time, the ref was the worst I've seen at the stoop in many years (and their are many performances to pick from). I'm not saying he cost us the game, we cost ourselves the game, but he let Wigan get away with anything they wanted. Do refs not see offside when they come down the stoop? Are they all taken back by how south they are that they cannot walk 10 metres back a play while making the team move 10 metres back? Because it isn't just this game, it's nearly every game at the stoop, offsides at the line do not exist when a team is going down the centre of the field. Some of the offsides today were embarrassing, Wigan hardly ever making it back the 10, and when they did, they move up in a line before the ball is even played yet, and Alibert just let them get away with it. It's awful to watch, and he just looked clueless in the centre of the field. Also how was their only two forward passes in the whole game? Both were our passes? How can that even be right?

The team were awful, like Rea said, in his regurgitated statement from the Hull game 'they didn't play together, they looked at each other expecting the other guy to do the work for them' etc.. etc.. etc.. Rea's a clueless coach at times. How can he think we should start with Cook and Olsi as our starting props? This is against Wigan, they have a huge pack, and we start with a make-shift prop and a small prop, we had Bryant and Wheeldon on the bench, but that would be stupid, putting a big guy on from the start.

I can't even be bothered critising each players performance as I could be sitting at the computer for the next day it was that awful. They looked un-interested and couldn't give a damn.

And for those that comment on the fact Rea can't do anything about the team not performing because they are in contracts and he can't do anything about it, then he might be in the wrong job, as last time I looked a coach didn't just watch the players not care about teamwork or each other and let them carry on with it, this isn't the year 7's playing Rugby League for the first time, half of them have played it for the majority of their lives, and they have no excuses. If some of the players don't want to play then Rea should publicly name them and stop playing them, as he clearly hasn't got a voice anyone respects in the dressing room.

Oh, and well done to Wigan, the best performance by any team I've seen at the Stoop in many years, reminds me of how St Helens used to play. Although they will be stuffed if Tomkins and Richards leave for the NRL in the next few years.

Ridiculous situation at the ticket office - plenty of one off fans (attracted by the name of Wigan) were ridiculing the situation - and quite rightly.
Luckily someone had the initiative to open a gate and take 20 quid for entrance instead of using the very slow ticket office.

I only remained after halftime just to watch Wigan's masterful comprehension of the game. I'm not going to bother complaining about our dire performance as it will serve no purpose but the difference between todays and the Bradford game was polar opposites.

Saving ourselves for the Cup. icon_smile.gif

So glad i couldn't make it today.

I have to say we as fans should look forward to playing the top 4, our team pitting ourselves against the best if they were competitive. But you always know they going to get spanked, hence if i have to miss a match i will always plan to miss one of these games of hurt. Says alot doesn't it. Rest assured not going to gillingham to see yet another walloping by wolves, i know we beat them last season. something to do with a cup final the following weekend.
