Correct, you just can't compare like with like of the Broncos and Skolars!

| I didn't mention success at all, I said they were better run. And I stand by that statement.

| The video analyst job is for nearly 12 months and is full time. I don't understand why the club are calling it an Internship. Why not just call them an Analyst? My betting is some potential candidates will be put off from applying because they see intern in the job title.
If we didn't have one of these before (which we should have done) then surely it's good news that we're recruiting one? I just hope the terms and conditions are a living wage to attract a decent young graduate.

Why pack in? Bradford haven't, Widnes didnt, Wakey have picked up............
Skolars run better than the Broncos- give up will you
My guess is that the Skolars budget is 150-200k yet they have never gone bust and are moving forward and will be amongst the favourites for promotion next season. Whereas our beloved Broncos have a budget? of 3.7m ! and can't get out of the bottom three and are losing 1m? a year. you tell me which club is run better.'"
Two different environments mate
The football league is littered with well run clubs who went bust when they stepped up to a bigger operation with larger financial demands and commitments

| Had to smile at a couple of statements in the ad for a Communications Intern.
"will involve working within the Communications Department to provide PR".......we have a whole Communications DEPARTMENT.......really!!.....bloomin hell......so there is a whole team working on the dribble of information that comes out of the club.
"An interest in a career in sports marketing and communications is highly desirable although not essential"......not essential......well that should make sure we get the best of the best......crowd numbers are set to go through the roof next year then.
Onwards and upwards Broncos, onwards and upwards

| When I saw the word internment I thought that's a novel way to rustle up a fanbase the club are really thinking outside the box.
Then I realised it was about work experience kids.

| As I have said before...the club is similar to a bus load of people being driven over a cliff and some fans on here are those passangers, smiling and waving out of the windows as they are about to plummet to their demise
The Staff at the club now include a PA for the CEO........so maybe Gus will have more time to individually call each ST holder to discuss their personal gripes.....although what he'll do for the other 7 hours of that day is up for debate

| GF I think you have to accept Hughsey isnt bothered about marketing. If he is happy to foot the bill then that is his choice.
Where there is a problem is sustainability ie when Hughsey says goodbye. Not only will there need to be investment but also a culture change to the way the club is currently run.
At the moment the bus isnt going of any cliff. The cliff comes when DH has had enough

I think it is just a question of how far away the cliff is. What surpises me is that we don't have to align the ground arrangements aligned to the franchise period.

| I don't see what's so bad about taking on an intern or two in fairness, surely it's a cost effective way or recruiting.

| So to apply for the communications internship you have to be in your 2nd or 3rd year at university - yet this is a full time role that also requires evening and weekend work (including road trips). Can't see much time being left for lectures or study...

| Wonder how our intern search is going?.........meanwhile our landlords properly run club have announced the following:
Harlequins announced today (11th October 2012) that James Kendall has been appointed Commercial Director.
Kendall is a sports industry specialist with 16 years experience working for the Volvo Ocean Race, Volvo Cars and BSkyB. The 40-year-old joins the London club from his position of Director at Portas Consulting, a professional services company specialising in sport.
A graduate of Durham University, Kendall brings strong project management expertise and a track record of delivering major strategic, organisational, membership, commercial and sponsor programmes for rights holders, federations and corporate businesses to his new role.
Announcing the appointment Harlequins Chief Executive David Ellis said, "The club is experiencing a remarkable period in its history both on and off the pitch. Last season's success has focussed much attention on the club and that has created a wealth of commercial opportunities. It is important that we capitalise on them and I'm delighted that we have attracted an experienced executive of the calibre of James Kendall to lead the club in this vital role."
Commenting on his move to Harlequins, James Kendall said, "Harlequins has a rich heritage and enviable assets on which to build a really exciting commercial proposition. This combined with the ambition and strategic focus of the club makes this a rare opportunity and a challenge I can't wait to start. I look forward to bringing my broad experience from the sports industry and making a significant contribution towards the long term success of the club."
Mr Kendall will take up his appointment on 5th November.

| Harlequins RFC are in a different class to the Broncos. Earlier in this thread some were given stick for comparing the Broncos to the Skolars.............I'd say the Broncos are a lot closer tobeing at the skolars level than at that of our Landlords.
Internships, 1 year contracts etc......it all points to the club being scaled back........so they can employ locals in Gillingham for 2015 when the club steps down to the Championship.
BTW....Imogen Gaunt, she who was binned by the Broncos, now works for the Landlords in a role she IS qualified to perform.....I wonder if they have an opening for Gus
