| Quote: jbuzza "I think you are starting to lose the plot on this one.'"
I lost the plot a long time ago...................
Buy the meal...or don't, that's really neither here nor there in the greater scheme of things....access to players on the other hand.....
At Brentford, players mixed with fans after the game in Stripes. There was supposed to be a 30 minute period after the game where Gold Card members got exclusive access, but in reality, pretty much anyone could access the bar straight away.
I remember when Wigan came down on a Friday one year and Andy Farrell haggling with Ralph in the Griffin over the cost of 2 cases of Bud he wanted to buy the team for the drive home.....I remember Widnes players taking the out of me looking after my wifes "minature yorkie" in the beer garden of the Giffin after a game. I remember being worse for wear and giving Russell "Rusty" Bawden my last tin of VB before staggering home.....
The first couple of seasons at the Stoop the players mixed freely with the fans..........then, it all changed and there was a "barrier" placed between fans/players......
By all means, charge what you can for a meal, programme and a cup of coffee, but don't "sell" access to the players and make the squad front up to the fans......they are, with every loss at home, becoming more and more disconnected from the people who help David Hughes pay their wages.
Yes, the club is a professional Sporting Business, but it has lost its sense of community...it has done away with the volunteers and it has burnt bridges at every turn.....selling access to the players and allowing the players to "opt out"of fronting up in the Kings bar are just 2 examples.

| There is plenty of access to the players, Gutters. They are always arouind after the match and anyone can go and talk to them after their meal (they pull the Jesters Bar shutters back when the players have had their meal (and they were in the bars at Leyton and Gillingham).
All that is different these days is that we don't have a players presentation in the Kings Bar.
I agree there could be improvements re how the whole after match stuff works, but we still have more access to our players than any other club.
The only thing that will really improve anything is having a consistently winning side and that is the major thing that is eluding us.
Back to the Legends Lounge, I've not been yet but I've heard good stuff from people I know who have.

I make no bones about this....from 12,000 miles away and for the right money, I'd turn the season around off the park. It's a number of things......not just my favourite bit......but I'd be worth every penny!
BTW!
....why would I applaud ripping off a tourist?
Would that be about R E P E A T business?........
thought not!
Stick to running water onto the park.....at least the players appreciate it
It's interesting that:-
You just had an opportunity to promote the club.
You had an opportunity to say nothing.
You chose the third option and pointed out other options.
Whilst adopting words about what the club offer as a "rip off". And you still manage to point out how great you are.

Bollox....but well done for posting it anyway. Tell me again how 40 notes for a ticket, programme, meal and a coffee is better value than 30 quid for 4 tickets...
The days of "softly softly catchy monkey" are over for the club........the LOWEST AVERAGE ATTENDANCE IN THE SL ERA and I get lambasted for pointing out that 40 notes was a bit steep
Looking forward to the gate for Widnes.....here's the list of previous attendances...
2002 - 3,813 and 3,796
2003 - 3,128
2004 - 2,923
2005 - 3,365 and 3,885
let me know how many meals the club have to sell to get the 4,846 they need to get back to the level of 2011.....and the failed Harlequins RL brand.
It would seem, having a pop at me, for having a pop at the club seems to be all the rage......and if it makes some of you forget the clusterfuk that is London Broncos RL Ltd and the farce it is fast becoming...then knock yourselves out

Nobody "forgets" the CF as you put it, most actually live it a damn site closer than you do, and paid for their tickets to watch it !!! but as has been said a million times before, you putting your take on every f£cking thread about just how e they are and what they need to be doing does sweet F$ck all to alleviate the issue, it's called praying to the converted...............carry on and put the last word in.

| Weird thread. So trying to prevent new and casual supporters from being fleeced is a bad thing. I know if I wasted 40 quid on that rubbish I wouldn't be rushing back.

Yet, people who have done it recently indicated that is was a good thing and worth it.

Lister and GF are against it, but those who've used it liked it and found it to be good value.
Mmmmmmm....
Just call me Sherlock, but the evidence suggests people like the offer.
Is it fleecing people, nope. No one has to take up the offer, it's just another choice people make.
I've used the Quins Carvery at £110 and that's a rip off!
If you really want a cheap day at the Stoop, go to the Spoons in Twickenham, have a big breakfast a few pints, then wander to the ground.
I tend to agree with GF on most things, but on this he's gone loco. As for Lister, he's gone potty as well.

Wow, what a perfectly logical argument. If there is someone out there who has paid for something and been happy, there is no way someone can be justified in having an opinion that they have been fleeced.
If some people are mad enough that they think an outlay for 40 quid is worth it for a product that only provides goods and services that are only worth half that then fine. I would love to see how many fans are won over by this wonderful experience and how many of the participants are those who have money to burn.
Sell a package of a cheap seat, wherever you like of course, a pint and a burger for 20 quid and you will get many more takers than this farce of an 'offer'.

Actually Dave, the definition of market price for any sale is a willing seller and willing purchaser coming to an agreement on price which a few seem to have done.
However, you have also come up with a good idea of beer, burger and seat for £20.00. They do the same at Wimbledon Dogs and that's a great deal.

Am I to take you don't like it then?
To summarise. Some people like it, some don't.
Put your idea to the club as clubs have varying packages according to budget. Yours sounds a bit like the ruby one, but workable don't it?
