| The RL media tipsters go for us, but then again it is a weekly joke when you look at there record of tipping the winning club in each game.
Rob's comments are a Joke! the stoop, when did it last feel like home?

| I assume the players dont drive to the Stoop as they have beds in the changing rooms. What nonsense.
Does Rob think that the multi millionaire Man Utd players live in Salford rather than the leafy suburbs of Alderley Edge in Cheshire
As the manager make it a special event for the players and get them up for the game in another way. !!! Forget the negatives and focus on the positives- You've known for months its in Kent

Always felt like home to me - from 97 onwards until we moved to the valley (hideous) then brentford (quaint) and personally I was pleased to get back there

We all have different opinions, I liked Craven Cottage, The Valley and The Stoop first time around, but now it is more like a graveyard!

Notice you never mention the days at Fulham? and the atmosphere there? Do I have to go with everyone else and not like the days at The Valley because everyone else did, which by the way you mean the few of us who still post here regular, which is what about 1% or 2% of our fan base!
You could have the best stadium in the world but it could be like a graveyard (perhaps the case if we ever move WHU to the Olympic Stadium, if it retained as it is now) It's not just this season that The Stoop has seemed just completely heartless! never mind any soul.

| Ah but the games played there since we returned haven't exactly set the world alight - passion, atmosphere and excitement builds when there is excitement on the pitch

Sorry to say I never saw them play at Fulham, but knowing the ground can believe it was a great atmosphere, and much though they are not my fav team, moving the Hammers away from UP will lose them the very advantages they have always had, away teams hated playing there with the crowd so close to the touchlines, a real home advantage, my point was much the same as yours, a large mainly empty football ground can never match a compact one such as GP, and while the Stoop is not perfect in the same way [height of roof on the stands for one thing] it is better now for retaining noise than it was in the first stint there.

You are right with Fulham's ground, but again the people of the area seemed to welcome us, but that first season did rock! I am no fan of Barry Hearn and Leyton Orient but again it was being so close to the pitch which gave it the real atmosphere and it sounded amazing compared to the Stoop. To have a ground like Leigh have would be superb with the sporting village, plenty of brick work and not like Langtree Park which is still not finished! with no backs on some of the stands, but is it a dream too far?
To get back on track with the thread I do not know a lot about Gillingham but I do take it from what friends say who have been there it is quite compact, early in the week I was told that 600 tickets had been sold in Hull, taking into consideration what have been sold at the ground and by Medway there should be a good atmosphere, we just need the result! will this week have kicked some backsides into action, well I don't have a clue! but we really need to pick ourselves up as a team! and club.
