Define a "rough season"?
On the pitch played all the other teams.....beaten Wakey and Castleford.....lost 11 other games. Those losses have seen 69 tries conceded. The Players look (apparently) bereft of ideas in attack and clueless in defence...the coach is out of his depth.
Off the pitch, the efforts to date would seem to be worse than any attempted in previous years....shirts late arriving, no sponsors, lowest average attendance in the history of the superleague in London, asking for advice on facebook .....the list goes on.
As I say, I would probably still drag my to games if I still lived in London........but not for much longer if they keep on messing everything up

| Does anyone know why the Chairman retains a coach who is incapable of coaching a a team to anywhere near its maximum potential?
The team has not won an away game in 14 months, and the team defence is leaking at a huge rate. Some of the young London players do not know how to tackle. The failure of the coach is obvious even to a blind man. David Hughes has paid a lot of money to recruit some high quality players (e.g Gower, Robertson, Kaufusi), but he has not recruited a competent coach. So given the fact that the coach has been seen for more than a year to be incapable of doing his job, why does the Chairman retain him?
I cannot comprehend this situation.

| I read an interesting article about Steve Kean the Blackburn football manager yesterday discussing why the owners keep him on as head coach when its clear he is out of his depth. They have just been relegated and have had protests at the ground for a significant part of the season.
The conclusion of the piece seemed to focus on Kean being a yes man and "their man" (the one they installed against all odds)
DH has had a numerous opportunities to get rid ie post the Reds game, Bulls game, in fact most games.
I cant work out why DH hangs on to Powell- it will take ages to turn the club culture around when he is gone- to many of the players will be used to losing

| as its being ignored because it might be about marketing,,,,I repeat here!
441 Superleague games over 16 and a half seasons....
174 Wins 39%

249 losses 57%
9,560 points for
11,595 against
deficit of 2,035
366 competition points..21 a season
Average position 8th
Interesting when you isolate these figures under RP...
40 superleague games
8 Wins 20%
1 Draw 2.5%
21 Losses 77.5%
804 for
1,390 againts
minus 586
17 competition points....11.3 a season
Average position 12th
Same stats for Mac 2007-2010
108 games
39 wins 36%
3 draws 3%
66 losses 61%
2,149 for
2928 against
down 779
81 comp points 20 a season
finished 10th...
Tony Rea, 2000 to 2005.
168 games
66 wins 39%
7 draws 4%
95 losses 57%
3,765 against
4,390 for
minus 625
139 comp points
8th place....
For me the most telling stats here are the points deficits.
Club average of 4.61...per game
Tony Rea...3.7
Mac 7.2
Towell......14.65

| MatthewVose For a first season you have gone through a time which is something like never experienced before and hopefully never again or it will be the end of Super League in London.
But I will never Judge supporters our own or opposition we all approach watching the game in a different way! We pay our good money and that is our choice! I will Never Forget that first game at Fulham, Mums Dads Kids and even Grandparents sat together, not a clue about the rules of the game but loving what rugby league brought to them rather than football, I can still see their faces we need to bring that back again, it is not living in the Padt! it is what our great game was built on a Family Friendly Sport!
Yes I am down at present with the way the club are doing things but I live with Hope this can't continue someone will wake up before it is too late and do something to save Our Club and Super League in London. Hang on in There!

| yesterday was shocking. Utter disorganisation, amateur standard play - lower level amateur at that, lazyness, players obviously uninterested, no heart, nothing. I cant believe Rob Powell still has a job. It's a joke. That team does not deserve to be playing in Super League.
I'll be at Gillingham, my daughter is in the minis festival in the morning and the Broncos game is our, err, highlight of the day. As I said to 'er indoors last night I'm worried that just as I'm getting my girl into RL she's going to cotton on to the fact how utterly abysmal the Broncos are and it'll put her off for life. She'll be seeing us get whupped next week and she'll be seeing us get whupped the weekend after that as well. Thank God I took her to Dewsbury for her first game!

| For me the real sadness was the utter predictability of it all. We all knew it would be a humiliation - Sky did, bookies did, Huddersfield did, fans did, and sadly it seems the players did.

Nope. Yes, this season has been a complete disaster but boycotts and tantrums won't influence the club.

| From the games I saw yesterday, Crusaders and Whitehaven would fancy their chances against us (got back from the Racecourse just in time to see the replay of Hudds' first try).

Enjoy the mini's at least you will see effort and enthusiasm from all taking part. The sad part is there is likely to be a good number of newbies attending the Gills game and what are they going to see from the Broncos?

| In answer to the original question asked, I don`t see anything changing any time soon and I have got the uncomfortable feeling that what we are witnessing is the final demise of the club.
DH has done his money with the club and deserves the respect for putting so much time, effort and money into keeping this club going......having said that it appears that he has made some terrible decisions along the way which has led us to our current dreadful state. He has made a commitment to keep the club going to the end of this licence period and I think that is all we will get......forget about him pumping extra funds into marketing and players.
On the subject of the coach, if he has a contract to the end of the season then DH will let it run its course......god knows who we might get thereafter but don`t expect any big hitters. A quick look at the player contract status indicates that there will be precious few of the current squad leaving, so any new coach will have pretty much the same outfit to work with. I can see Gus walking before too long.
Without any new investment (and lets face it, who would want to take on such a shambles in the current financial climate) all I expect to see is more of the same until the club finally folds. As a fan all I can do is to continue buying my season ticket and get to the games (I have scrubbed the idea of any away games this season) until we reach our final depressing conclusion.

Completely correct, all it will do is bring an early end and kill of Super League in London!
