Think we would have to leave by 09.00 which would mean the 8.09 from Waterloo getting to Staines at 8.45.
If we had a guaranteed coach load could even ask Batley to make it 2.30 or 3.00 but would look a bit stoopid if 10 of us turned up!!

On the other hand the last time we went there it was february and the rain was angled at 45 degrees. After 10 minutes both teams were playing in mud coloured shirts. Cold as a witches tit.

| Re possible transport to Batley. So far have from facebook site Joe Quinny, Richard Russell, Alan Elrick from . From here, Windy 3 possibly 4, Sidcup massive 2,3 or maybe 4, Paul Roberts, Tricky Dicky 2, Brixton 2. Anyone "double" counted in that. A 25 seater is £895 and we would need to leave Staines station at 9 the latest which for those coming from far and wide would mean 8.09 from Waterloo getting to Staines at 8.45.
Anyone else up for the march to the arch?
If we fill a 25 seater it is £35.80. On numbers above it looks like we won't get 25. Happy to organise a mini bus BUT would want to share the driving - any volunteers?

Hi Paddock.......regarding my earlier post, sorry to say that we two will not be making the trip up on the fun bus as travel times and connections etc across the day are just too much of a pain. I am going to take another look at the train travel option.
It looks as though Wakefield Westgate would be the right station to head for from Kings Cross, then I assume a cab to the ground............can anyone tell me if that is correct??

| That probably would be your best bet, Wakey station to Batley can't be much over 5 or 6 miles.
Did look at train to Leeds and connection to Batley, but Leeds-Batley only run every 2 hours on a Sunday and would've meant a punishingly early start.

simpsons/017.jpg Welcome Quins Kitties born 02.04.09 -
Purdo - Determined, loveable with a "can-do" attitude. A born leader.
Louie - Big, white and fluffy. A very noisy prop forward.
Harley- Cute and gorgeous (just like our no.9) Well, I couldn't call her Chad, could I?
Update on Quins Mogs :-
Purdo - deffo leader amongst Mogs. The Capo.
Louie - turned out to be more like Louie Spence than LMS. Re-named Judas.
Harley - Cute but not as gorgeous as our no.9.
Oh well, at least I haven't got a Willy.:simpsons/017.jpg |

| Just echoing Sticksys comments - the sunday 2pm KO has done for us, unfortunately.
I've pm'd you PP.

| Its now confirmed on the club`s website as a 1400 ko sunday.
£15 entry for adults with £9 concessions and £3 for the kids.
Tickets only avialable at the gate on the day.
Considered the coach option but knew full well either due to no mainline service at all,
or the timings not making it possible to get to Waterloo from Essex. that this was always
going to be a struggle.
Hence decided to make a weekend of it driving up saturday.

Ohhhhhhhhhh... now that's feasible as I'd not thought of Wakefield station. If I take the 45 mile drive up the A1(M) to Peterborough station & take the Wakefield Westgate service it is remarkably only a 1h 14m rail journey & £38.80 as a Super Off-Peak Day Return. According to Google maps Wakefield WF1 1XP to Batley WF17 7NZ it is a 7.5 mile trip by car via the A638. At this rate, if I go, I'll be the only London supporter there reading this thread I wonder if I'll have my own lonely stand to watch from??!!

| If you can get to Wakefield, get a taxi from there to Batley, taxis are very cheap around there if you agree a fee beforehand.
