| Quote: Roy Haggerty "Mid-table seems a reasonable expectation. I still can't quite see how the squad is spent up to the salary cap, as has been stated by the club, because if it is then they need a much better accountant, as the other clubs spent up to the salary cap - Warrington, Wigan, Saints etc - are much, much better quality.
However, whereas last year it was hard to see anyone other than the Crusaders with as little quality as Quins, this year it's different. Quins are still a bottom half team, and wins against Warrington, Wigan, Saints, Leeds, Hull and Huddersfield will be few. Looking at Wakey, Widnes, Salford, Cas, Hull KR and Bradford, though, and you'd have to expect a decent return in those games. Catalans are, as ever, the wild card.
So I think 7th or 8th is a real possibility, injuries permitting. Anything above 7th would be remarkable, and anything below 10th would be very disappointing.'"
I suspect the reason is down to the fact that we have to pay a premium to any of our players who have moved from Up North to persuade them to come. e.g If Gareth Carvell became available from Warrington he could move to many Up North clubs without moving house, wife giving her job up and kids leaving school. If we don't cough up a premium it does'nt make sense for him to uproot himself and his family. I think this would apply to any half decent players who move down especially the married ones. I recall some Wakey fans coming on here when we signed Ollie Wilkes saying we were paying him crazy money to move to Quins over and above what he was worth - in other words what they were paying him - but without that he would not have come. If we were rich enough there is a case for us asking the RFL to pay London Weighting to make it a level playing field but it is pointless atm as we can't pay it even if we were allowed to. One for the future perhaps. Until then we are paying up to the salary cap but getting lesser quality players overall.
8th place for us I think as long as Gower stays fit. I believe we can cover other positions adequately as long as there aren't too many injuries at once but not him.

| Top 4 with a visit to both Wembly and Old Trafford...
Unsure if the team will be there as well though!

| A quick look at the odds suggests all the bookies think there at least 9 better sides than us.
We should be aiming for the playoffs though.

You are Mac and I claim my fiver!
Home Play-Off game would be the minimum IF we are at 100% of cap.

Our pack shouldn't be bullied this year and Robertson could be prolific if given the opportunities. Or it could all go horribly tits up.

simpsons/017.jpg Welcome Quins Kitties born 02.04.09 -
Purdo - Determined, loveable with a "can-do" attitude. A born leader.
Louie - Big, white and fluffy. A very noisy prop forward.
Harley- Cute and gorgeous (just like our no.9) Well, I couldn't call her Chad, could I?
Update on Quins Mogs :-
Purdo - deffo leader amongst Mogs. The Capo.
Louie - turned out to be more like Louie Spence than LMS. Re-named Judas.
Harley - Cute but not as gorgeous as our no.9.
Oh well, at least I haven't got a Willy.:simpsons/017.jpg |

| I'm hoping for a play-off place but not hopeful of one.
Although we have undoubtedly strengthed this year, unfortunately, most of the other teams around us have also.
TBH, I've given up worrying about such things as league position (I can't see us winning the comp in my lifetime) so I'm just going to turn-up make the most of the day and hopefully see a few wins.

If he had the quality of Centre's that Ade Gardner has played with over the years he'd probably end up as SL top try scorer. However ....
