| Quote: The Lambeth Quin "In a recent Interview (I believe in August 2009 RLW) David Hughes admitted Quins were towards the upper reaches of the salary cap.
I have mentioned before that I heard this somewhere. Essentially it means we are paying the same wages as Saints and Leeds etc. and the best we BM can recruit are the present underperforming players?

| Considering we lost Hill, Paul, McLinden etc. I shudder to think what we spent on Robinson and Williamson.

Hopefully, no where near what we were spending on thoughs 3.
We need another McLinden. Or the man himself back, if he's got back his fitness playing RU in Aus(highly doubt that)

What relevance has his playing ability got to do with his coaching ability? Shall we start at the top teams in RL or football and go through each of the respective coach/managers playing ability- Potter, Ferguson for starters, Mclennan, Benetez..........

Alot of teams would be happy with BM as coach.
IMO, his tactics aren't great, his signings are to much 'for the future' as fans, we like building for the future but we want NOW as well.
His signings are strange, Lister said from the start, signing Dorn to replace Hill was a huge error as Orr seems to be injury prone. To late for all of this now. Whats done is done.

The trouble with recruiting from Australia has been the collapse of sterling against the Aussie Dollar. In October 2006, around the time that Scott Hill left the Storm, £100 bought AUD 250., currently £100 will buy AUD 185. Therefore you either spend more sterling to purchase to same level of Aussie goods and services, or you spend the same amount of sterling for a potentially inferior product.

I expect they are on decent money but don't think they would collect all of their money as they are really only defenders. I rate both of them highly and think they are doing a good job as defenders but they have not been signed to score tries.

I do remember it being about 250 though, when I went there in 2004.

BBC is an inter bank rate, which you or I could not get for our holiday money. I was giving a comparison of the change in tourist rates, which as a regular visitor to Oz I am more familiar with. (This afternoon M&S are selling at 1.87 with no commission). Whatever historic rates are used, the fact is that Australian imports are 33% more expensive than they were three years ago - as I know by the cost of my NRL grand final ticket!
