Why do you people always feed trolls?: |

seems like he deserves some significant praise for having built a squad that has out performed most expectations thus far

I seem to recall at the beginning of the season he said we had a squad good enough to win Super League!
Either he was being very optimistic or made a gross error of judgement.

We're not all Southern Softies: |
|
| Seem to remember Mac saying when he first came to the club, that he wouldn't slate the players for their performance in public.
This was between him & the players to discuss & would be done behind closed doors away from the media.
Surely this is better than airing your dirty laundry in public.
As for talk of getting rid of him, "Are You For Real".
We still have a long way to go till the end of the season & the legacy Mac has put in place for us as a team, since his time in charge, will long outlast the first few weeks of this season.
We all know we can play better than we have done for the past couple of weeks & hopefully "The Celt's" will be put to the sword by the "Cockney Invaders".
Hope they do Stella in Bridgend!!!

Sadly a very poor observation- his involvement is
To build a team/mentality
Introduce a defensive strategy/system
Improve it week on week
Set it up for different teams as required- amongst others
He may not make the tackles but he could lose his job on others missing them

| How about just accepting that Catalans were better on the night. There was not a great deal between the two sides other than Sharps comedy of errors. Les Cats pack worked our forwards over and crafted the space for Bosc to dominate inside our 20 metres with his kicking. Defneding 6 sets of 6 at the start of the second half is near impossible in the modern game, and so it proved.
I think our tactics were to stay close in on the score board and catch them in the last 20 to 15 minutes - banking on the theory they would tire after Sundays game - we would conserve some energy for Monday.
Unfortunately Les Cats did not tire much until the final 10 - and 16 points was to much to overcome.
Credit though to the team for trying to do a Saints, and lets face it if Dorn had got in at the end and robbed them we would be hailing the team for the come back of all time!
Roll on Monday!

| Oh, and one more thing! More wife couldn't use her pass so I dragged a friend along. He loved it! He thought the fight back was something else.
His only other Rugby experience is watching the Six Nations bore athon - his words!
So we have a convert who will come to more games this season. So even in defeat we won another supporter.

Are you saying McDermott got the tactics wrong?

Yes. But then with no relegation why not gamble when you have to play 4 games in 14 days Huuds, Cats, Celtic then HKR. It is asking a lot, so why not try and win the game in the last 10 minutes - keeping in touch?
OK, so it did not work for us, but it could have done. Yes for periods we seemed to coast, but I would rather face up and say that the Cats kept us subdued.
