Why are people picking on Lovell? The guy clearly isn't a centre, he is a second rower, he didn't have the confidence to pass the ball. Saying he had a shocker is completely wrong, he made a lot of yards in contact from being in the centre position. |

I'm personally offended by how bad that performance was.
If I hear one more person say "oh well it's only round 1" I'll scream. The fact that its round 1 does not excuse the fact that we've squandered two points at home to Widnes.
I can't even begin to describe how awful that was. Lovell, Kaufusi, Howell particularly wretched. After Gower went off we looked even more clueless, which I didn't think was possible after the first 40 minutes. Terrible atmosphere. Whose ideas was it to let Widnes fans sit on the east stand halfway line? Apparently we had a good pre-season, though I couldn't see any trace of it here. This idea that Widnes were awful - utter codswallop. They completed their sets and accomplished the basics, and made very few errors. We barely completed a set, knock-ons aplenty. Embarrassing. Humiliating.
Absolute rubbish from beginning to end. It feels like its going to be a long season.
