| The club can't do much about the wages of those already under contract realistically. Ultimately employment law is the final arbiter, not what we'd like to see.
I'm guessing, and stress guessing, the RFL would want a guarantee or bond to ensure we complete the season and honour our financial obligations. It might not just be money up front that David is looking at.

| Quote: gutterfax "I don't see why DH needs to spend another penny really.
1.3 million in TV money will have to do......if we move to the Hive then matchday expenses won't be anything like the Stoop, staff can be pared back even further....if they can muster a 2k average paying a tenner a pop then there's 260k which should cover the ground.....pay the squad half the cap and you should have a few bob left for a bit of marketing and promotion. No need for "an office" so to speak.....cloud based technology and modern telecoms negate the need to have bricks and mortar. If the RFL want the good work done bringing the kids through to continue, then they'll need to finance that part of the club. Other than a busy CEO, who would need to work 60+ hours a week networking and maybe 1 full time administrative assistant, the rest of the back office could be part time.
Rammos squad has this team
5 Michael Robertson (FB)
2 Liam Colbon (WG)
24 Mike McMeeken (CE)
35 Harry Little (CE)
21 Kieran Dixon(WG)
28 James Woodburn-Hall (SO)
30 Mike Bishay (SH)
8 Antonio Kaufusi (PR)
26 Ben Fisher (HK)
18 Olsi Krasniqi (PR)
11 Shane Rodney (SR)
22 Will Lovell (SR)
32 Joel Wicks (LF)
17 Shane Grady (SR)
27 Erjon Dollapi (PR)
XX Oscar Thomas
31 Mason Caton-Brown (WG)
With the exception of a couple, they would have to take a wage cut........personally, if they aren't prepared to after the last few years of crap they've delivered, then good riddance to them.
1.3 sky money and say another 250k in ticketed revenue...that's what you have to spend......time to cut their cloth accordingly!'"
You really think 2,000 fans would attend to see that team week in and week out?

If you market it properly? Yes, I do.

| Four of that team won't be with the club next year - on the plus side, your wage bill would be down to something like £800k tops even if you replaced those four with the dregs that are left available. Got to pay coaches, Physios, medical, transport, academy wages and the like anyway.
But we've lost 13 straight with a better team that that one. Would be hard pressed to get 2000 a week to a new location getting beat badly weekly. Unfortunately.

Agree 100% No one will watch us being flogged each week same as we are doing now. The fans have no faith in this team beating anybody and a weaker one is not going to impress them as it is just acknowledging we cannot turn things round and we have thrown the towel in.

| I'd be fascinated to know how many people go at the moment because they support some other SL team but live in the south, opposed to how many are Broncos supporters.

| Well if Tony Rea is still here its his chance to show his recruiting skills - he has done it before - if we added 4 or 5 forwards (probably) then we might be more competitive than this year? Though that would nt be that difficult?

| Rea might have the recruiting skills but from where I've been sitting this season he hasn't got the coaching skills. There's got to be someone out there who can teach teams how to complete sets and tackle.

Indeed! Someone to get the players out of this idea that they have to score off every bloody play!

Funny how he has suddenly lost these skills after guiding us to the playoffs in his previous stint, an achievement reserved for a very select band of people.
Personnel is the issue, solid Australian imports replaced by substandard products of our Academy who aren't up to it for whatever reason. And look what a mess that has got us in to.

What do you know? It's been proven that Brian McDermott is a crap coach with his poor resuts after leaving London remember.

as I said...it would take 3 or 4 seasons to see how crap Mac is as a coach.....they're 5th this year and have no chance of getting to, let alone winning the GF from there
No matter who is coaching the side next year, unless the club publish a 10 year plan for the club with ACHIEVABLE AND MEASURABLE KPI's then all we'll get is more of the same.....whether that's in the SL or the Champs...no difference really.
