| absolutely disgusted with the performance today. just basic stuff- too many errors, not taking clear cut chances, defence appalling- noone willing to rush and meet the man but instead the line just waiting for them to come to us, and letting them in seemingly every time they got down our end. forwards largely anonymous
worst performances- will lovell bottling two tries, first by not passing in a 2-on-1, then dropping over whitewash, david "howler" howell.
bright spots- dorn and dixon, as usual the two who put in the most effort, willing to try and make things happen with ball in hand. can see the look of grit on dorns face from the stands and the only one who seems able to tackle one-on-one
no disrespect intended to widnes who i thought were very business-like about their win- defended well, took chances, largely error free. best of luck to them for the season, could threaten the 8 with players back, well done to their fans for completely out enthusing us as well. those who predicted wins for us by silly scorelines should be well and truly ashamed, maybe that complacency was reflected in the team?
oh well at least the super bowl's on later, at least i can see one game today with 100% commitment from both sides

god that award is tragic, sounds like the sort of thing you invent for an under 12s team just so the kid who never gets given the ball can win something

Perhaps it offsets the comedy of throwing rugby balls in to cement mixers?

| Worst Broncos performance I can remember. Two poor sides and a poor ref - a great advert for a 10-team Super League.
Rea must take some blame. He had absolutely no clue what to do when Gower left the field - players went on a merry-go-round from position to position and it was only when he took Witt off that Lee and Bailey were able to put some plays on. As per Powell's teams, we still look very weak defensively on the edges - on the right, Witt and Howell aren't keen on contact (FFS!) and poor Lovell and Hurst struggled on the left. We now enter our second season without a recognised right centre ...
Much to do. The pool of players isn't dreadful but somebody needs to marshall the playing resources we have much better than this! I have faith in Rea but today we looked like an uncoached rabble.
Pluses: Dixon, Dorn, Lee, Melling, perhaps Rodney and Bryant

Bit harsh to dig Dorn out mate, the game was well and truly over by then and he'd run himself ragged, one of the few who showed any real effort

To be honest I think Hurst looked OK with ball in hand, and looked to have some pace. Lovell had a shocker though, especially 2nd half - he had 2 chances to let O'Callaghan go one on one with his marker out wide and chose to go inside to allow Widnes a simple tackle to stop him and then dropping the ball when a try seemed certain! Suppose he won't play any worse surely?

| Hurst does look good with ball in hand. I would like to see the Widnes tries again TBH - but our LHS got busted 3 times in the first half and I don't think Hurst looked good for any of them.
Lovell is a strange one - I just think he completely lacks a rugby league brain. He might go really well as a winger for now because he makes big yards but put him in-field and he chooses the wrong options, like you say.

| Thought Hurst did well for his debut. He apparently won tackle of the match, as voted for by the fans on Twitter.

Isn't that Howell?
We now have no centres with Howell breaking his arm.

New texting game for all the fans to vote for the best tackle of the match. I voted for Steve McGee, he carry's round plenty of tackle during the game.

the club needs to forget twitterbook and the like and get down to basics. Sub 3k gate for the seasons opener is shocking...especially after the good run at the end of last year and the chance of what should have been 2 points........
...there is a lot more to marketing that sticking the same ad copy in a few newspapers
