| If there is a name change it should be to London Rugby League Football Club.

Couldn't agree more. No point in changing animals or to lumps of metal. Hetherington's nonsense that Leeds fans weren't happy when he changed their name from Loiners to Rhino's is patently false as it was their nickname not the club name. In that regard he's talking out of his backside.

They’ve issued a public statement promptly which is helpful. Every one’s a critic and this isn’t easy but I think the first reaction of most is probably correct. Still at least they are having a go. Club could have folded end of last season so onwards and upwards.
Hopefully the club, Hetherington in particular, will have taken on board the criticism of this attempt at a daft name change. To paraphrase ‘Flower of Scotland’ it’s sent him home to think again!

| I’m not massively excited by the name London RLFC but equally I see no point in a name change from one animal to another. May as well stick with Broncos so if it’s to be a name change it would have to be something outside the box like Steel or Thunder etc etc and none relevant come readily to mind. All in all we have bigger problems but it does highlight just how difficult a successful revamp will be but I’m modestly confident. Let’s get the win on the weekend first.

| London Hounds has certainly caused considerable mirth among those i know who nolonger come. If Gazza wants to reconnect with lapsed fans, he may need to try harder.

At 80 odd, they'd have no trouble catching Neil Fox.

| I've always been a bit against a name change. I don't think there is much wrong with London Broncos but I get that if a particular NRL club is heavily behind the takeover, they might not want to have a club named after one of their competition 'rivals' in Australia. I also think London Rugby League is boring and bland and I do think you need a nickname to build more of a brand around.
Initially, London Hounds sounds bad. I did wonder initially if Canterbury Bulldogs were behind the takeover but I had forgotten that Wimbledon had a dog track at Plough Lane. Now, as much as Hounds sounds rubbish, if it means the club are putting down foundations in South West London and aren't just going to flit around the capital every couple of years, it can only be a good thing.

As close to Tooting, so London Curry Kings.

Not sure that is true. Castleford are still more Cas than Tigers, Wakefield more than Wildcats, Catalans more than Dragons & I would suggest Wigan more than Warriors. It's all about how you sell it. If as suggested elsewhere that the resurfacing of Fatty Wood might of ended NRL interest staying as Broncos might be a moot point. In tribute to Cliff, didn't he & others shout London London not Broncos Broncos?
