They had to play the tie at Sheffield, otherwise Mitch Stringer would have got homesickness.

Doncaster is the nearest on the ECML, trains from there to Sheffield take about 30-40 minutes.

As the RFL are very unlikely to have sorted anything by Tuesday, you'd be better off catching the one from St Pancras to Sheffield, just over 2 hours and no changes needed.

You can express trains between Doncaster and Sheffield that take 20 minutes. However you'd probably be better getting off at Meadowhall and then getting the tram to Attercliffe
