A few possibilities.

Willie Poching - leaves Leeds to uncertain future. Head coach of Samoa in 2009.
Jason Taylor - does occasional media work, but not linked to NRL jobs
Francis Cummins - leaves Leeds for a fresh challenge. Assistant to Tony Smith and Brian McLennan
Tony Rea - is the assistant coach at a Super 15 rugby side and is settled back home
Jimmy Dymock - is the assistant coach at the Bulldogs and has a settled life in Sydney
Kevin Walters - has had his deficiencies as a top-flight coach shown up
Phil Jones - is a development coach, and not a first-grade coach
Steve Folkes - is to step up from fitness and conditioning coach to become assistant at Wests Tigers
Graham Murray - Aussie coach with a wealth of top level experience in both hemispheres and at representative football. Unemployed.
Karl Harrison - Batley coach who seeks a return to SL. Proud Englishman
Ian Millward - Rumoured successor to Tony Rea in 2006, has bagged Quins at every opportunity since.
Brian Noble - Head coach of Crusaders, that is his long-term project.
Tony Currie - Back in Australia, but has coached London before. Unclear what he is doing at this time.
Paul Cullen - On compassionate leave following the death of his wife. Leave him time to grieve.
John Kear - Will leave Wakey at the end of his contract at the end of 2011, but Quins won't pay to get him.
Rob Powell - Head coach of Lebanon, but clearly an assistant at SL level after making the step up from coaching in the amateur game.
Latham Tawhai - Former London Skolars head coach, given a more u20's focus for 2010. But not a contender for the top role.
Jon Sharp - assistant to Brian Noble at Crusaders. Got Giants to CCF in 2006 and with Iestyn Harris up there he may seek a top job.
Daryl Powell - Head coach of Featherstone, former Leeds coach. Unclear of what his business commitments are.
Terry Matterson - Wanted out by a number of vocal Cas fans. Staunch supporter of licence system and youth production.
Keiron Purtill - Assistant at St Helens passed over for top job, may seek top job elsewehere.
Paul Anderson - Would have liked Huddersfield hot-seat, but is happy to remain Nathan Browns assistant now the Aussie is staying.
Jimmy Lowes - Brief spell as head coach at Warrington. Assitant to Tony Smith and passed over for Salford job in favour of Shaun McRae.
Steve McCormack - Wealth of experience at top end of 2nd tier. Head coach of Scotland, and very briefly assistant at Hull KR. Happy in the North-west.
Rohan Smith - assistant to his father Brian at the Roosters. Head coach of Tonga. Former assistant at Quins.
Chris Anderson - former Australia coach, well regarded until ill-fated spell with the Roosters in 2007. Cut his coaching teeth with Halifax.
Brad Fittler - Australia and Blues legend. Fell flat after a good period as Head Coach at the Roosters. Happy doing media work
Michael Hagan - Former Newcastle, Parramatta coach and assitant coach of the Maroons in 2010. Happy with part-time role.
Ricky Stuart - Former Cronulla, Roosters, Blues and Kangaroos coach. Financial constraints would only mirror his time at Cronulla

Nice work. Murray it is then icon_lol.gif although if I were looking for a long shot outsider my money would go on Keiron Purtill.

Ive said all alomg Paul Cullen would be great down here. He is very articulate has a great image and speaks very well which for me are key in the top job of pro RL in London more so than at any other club in the country. He also brings with him a great brand of RL and I believe his style will be very attractive to newcomers of the sport. My fear is that Quins RL will look at a up and coming coach like Franny Cummins which wouldnt be a bad thing but I believe now is a great opportunity to attract Paul to the region.

I was talking to someone @ the weekend who suggested to me that KH and Paul March (Hunslet Hawks) or Willie Poching as his number 2.

I did suggest that Mac had to leave his post before this could happen to which they replied "Watch this space and whilst we are at it why not have a little side bet, eh?" "Okay" Says I.

I'm now a 6 pack of down.

And I'll be another 6 pack down if KH turns up @ The Stoop.

I suspect due to recent events in his personal life now may not be the right time to have Paul Cullen as Head Coach @ Quins RL.

How about the tongue in cheek option of Dean Richards (think of a director of football type arrangement). Players cross codes and if Shaun Edwards were on offer we would bite his hand off....so why not Deano.

Think about it, played RU at all levels, very strong coach, media savvy, good technically and a win at all costs mentality.........currently kicking his heels at Worcester in the capacity of `consultant`, so he might even be a bargain.

Despite all the sanctimonious articles written by the media and the high moral stance taken by some RU fans, his biggest crime was getting caught for cheating, whilst others were more fortunate.

Think about it............

He gets to launch a new career free from the RU baggage.

Quins RU fans would be intrigued, pleased and/or outraged, but at least they would notice us for once and would likely come along to see him fail, support him or boo him respectively.

The pro RU media would be incandescent, but would be all over us as a club for the story providing the RL club with the level of publicity that you could not buy......announce it long before the season starts and we could really milk it. It would surely bring in plenty of curious fans who might just hang around. Dwayne Chambers, Gareth Thomas......small beer in terms of a story, if Deano were successful we will have cracked it

I can hear the chants from the terrace now........Deano, Deano, Deano icon_biggrin.gif

As the ERC and IRB still can't decide what his ban entails, I suspect that if any moves were made to Rugby League that the RFL would be under pressure from the RU bodies to apply the ban to their sport in line with say anyone caught using banned substances.

One for the lawyers I suspect................... if it happened.

True......Googled up a few stories and it appears that due to some technicality his RU ban only applies in the UK........but Worcester found a way round it with the `consultant` label.....so where there is a will there is a way.

Homer......please can you add our future leader Deano to the poll icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

For what it's worth, last week's League Weekly said "Crusaders coach Brian Noble strongly linked with a switch of codes to Harlequins RFC and a job with Union HQ at Twickenham"
I haven't seen this rumour reported anywhere else and have no idea whether, even if true, it would impact on Quins RL, but who knows?

Something for the conspiracy theorists to chew on anyway.

Well that's a very thorough assessment. You could do worse than offering your services to DH as a recruitment consultant.

When I last looked, Tony Currie remained proprietor of Currie Tyres (or Tires). I fear he's been out of the game too long.

Out of your list I'd go for Rohan Smith with one of the English coaches with SL experience as assistant, Franny Cummins maybe. But out of DH's finances we might have to do with Cummins on his own.

[sizeOf course, Dan Stains is probably available.

No. What is everyone's fascination with Jon Wells? Is there any position in the club that he apparently isn't qualified for?
