| Quote travel to every game, home and away, over 6500 miles a year to see my team. Many teams selfishly host the fixture on a Friday night, charge nearly £20 for a crumbling terrace, offer no adequate facilities for a beer and nothing after the match. I would say that £25 for a seat to watch two top level Rugby games, a live band, a good seat and decent people is a fair deal'"
Quote The topic is an accusation that £25 for two top level Rugby games in London is a rip-off. I don't believe it is. It is roughly the same price pro rata as a Gold Season ticket or the same price as an RU game. A cheap season ticket for home fans is only £99 so they can afford to attend for a minimal contribution to the club. It is unfortunate that a small number of away supporters feel ripped off, but then again this minority from one club of average support who come once a year at most is of low importance. The club is decaying and I applaud anything that puts upto 10,000 Londoners in front of our game. Maybe my comments do not resonate with you but I do not care you are a fool to consider them irrelevant. I have little interest in the budget, weather or any other factors I have no influence over. Your decision is always to do something or not to, this leisure activity is not compulsory'"
I think what some appear to be saying is that it is normally £15 to watch Quins RL. On this occasion they are forcing a different sport onto people at a £10 cost that some may not wish to see. Do you think it would have been difficult to produce a pink ticket that you can purchase for £15 and only use after 4 30.

I don't think that a single person has actually suggested that. If you could point one out then great, but you are arguing with yourself here.

| I have weighed up my response to this very carefully and can see some of the points from both the for and against camps. I am very disappointed with what is occuring, here are the facts as I see them.
1. £25 is the normal fee for a Quins Union match so as a Union fan if you are prepared to hang about you get to see free superleague, if you aren't you pay exactly the same as you would week in week out.
2. Last year as I recall my entry as a full price adult was £15 and my mother paid £10 as a concession. To get the same seat for the same fixture mum pays 100% more than last year whilst I pay and extra £10.
3. I as many others have no interest whatsoever in attending a union game and think the choice should be available. If it's about raising the profile of SL in London then why not charge each set of supporters what they usually pay and allow those choosing to watch the union game the option of free admission to the SL game what in affect is actually happening. Those Saints fans who want to see the two then buy a union ticket and watch both for £25 where as those who don't aren't forced with a all or nothing situation.
I have spoken to both clubs regarding this, one was very supportive and sympathetic of the supporters concerns whilst the other was totally uninterested and saw it as a opportunity to sell surplus tickets to Union fans. I will let you decide which is which. I am not having a go at anyone for wanting to promote the sport in London as I see this is a good thing. What I am having a go at is the removal of being able to make the choice. The league fans are not been afforded the same benefits as their Union Counterparts.
Finally the people who I feel more sympathy for than anyone are the Quins RL fans as they have a team not performing well on the pitch and season ticket holders aside their "pay as you view" and walk up support are also having to pay the higher fee. Quins really need to start looking after the fans that they already have before promoting the game on the off chance they might get a few Unions fans crossing over. I can see after the few thousand extra on the gate has been spent and the attendance figures long forgotten the Quins League fans will not forget so quickly
I will still be attending the fixture SL but can't listen to anymore drivel about it only being an extra £5 or £10 without having a say. I will be doing so with with my own refreshments and taking my tenner money back by boycotting the concessions and bar. More than one way to skin a cat and all that.

The Union fans have only come across in the smallest of numbers - if they haven't taken the bait yet I don't think they ever will (or in the case of many of them that they were ever going to!). Either way RL and RL fans will be losing out both financially and in good will terms by this . As Jim Royle (think Ricky Tomlinson is a Saints fan) Rugby United , my ar5e!!

| You could drag me kicking and screaming to a union game have one of those machines to keep my eyes open like in clockwork orange and make me watch a whole season. I still wouldn't watch a game under my own steam it just doesn't interest me, i'm sure the majority of our union chums feel the same. What i'm reading into this is that they are peeing off and putting off RL fans in a vain attempt to 'get more fans'. I don't see the logic there. Instead of complaining though just don't go, and save £25, buy a bottle of vodka, knock one out and come on here and moan.
Write as many emails as you like, the price is £25 end of. You might think it stinks but no one in a position to change it cares.

| I've got a radical thought!
Weigh up the decision whether twenty five quid is too much, then either attend the match or don't.
This has got to be the most pathetic thread the RL forums has had, and we contribute to most other pathetic threads as well!

| I wonder how many people that do not see this as a problem will be paying £25 on the day.

I estimate there will be a record crowd there for a SL game in London so it makes no difference who pays on the gate or not......IMO that is

Half the people on here dont even go to every home game, so who cares if they have to miss another one due to a severe case of tightitis?
