I got to the last SL game there....it was awful. Both teams were heading for the trap door...it was like being at a wake

| A classic bit of London that one. Shaun Morris, who had been told he was being released, equalled the club record for tries in one match so they promptly tried to re-sign him. Strangely enough he joined Wakefield instead.
Sadly a head injury, on his Wakey debut I think, ended his career. Last I heard of him, he was living in Australia.

Sean Morris could do no wrong in that game. Sad for him that it all went wrong at Wakey.
.
Did he not come to the Broncos from Oxford?

| As an Oxford season ticket holder I can confirm he was ex Oxford. He played union to a high level as a junior, England I think. He was employed by Oxford RU, he attended the uni from memory, when Oxford RL were formed. He actually lived in the house that is in the Iffley Road grounds so decided to try out for Oxford RL. Turned out he was rather good.

It's probably best that we just wait out for that, particularly given the recent news on funding cuts etc.'"
Naivety Boy here....just wondering how long said "article' is taking to produce? Couple of weeks now since they hosted the event and not a dickie bird. It's either an opus of scheme, or the single side of a beermat idea.....
Barrow have just been promoted with a 2k fan average in a town with about 60,000 population. They've been running "specials' all year long. Season Tickets could be purchased at £12 a month, they were letting kids in free all year. They have also offered free entry to anyone who arrives 90 minutes before every hoe game....they OWN the bars and Food Concessions.
They are a club that have done it hard over the years and are to be applauded and in some ways, copied. The 90 minute before KO is a brilliant idea. I've no idea how much it cost them in lost ticketing revenue, but if they have a captive thirst and hungry audience spending coin and getting into the habit of attending it is to be applauded.
Let's hop the JJ's aren't plotting a $300 ST price and a boy band at half time....

| Barrow deserve huge credit. Faced by the rise of Barrow AFC they came up with a marketing strategy and pricing policy that has worked and transformed the club. Compare and contrast with Broncos. How many pay on the day prices has it been this season?
Fan engagement is an art. Barrow seem to have nailed it this season. Good on them. Alienating and banning fans doesn't really work as a strategy.

I would be very keen to hear the minutes of this gathering of minds. I mean, the invitation was penned in a manner that the authors wanted to be steered, yet one of the key points that was going to be raised was the "LACK OF COMMUNICATION"....yet 2 weeks down the track, nothing, nada, zilch.
So, this points to them not wanting to hear anyone's thoughts at all.
The move to Wimbledon is on, so as the club announce that we are losing about £200,000 in funding, we're going to pay for a ground, a training facility and god knows what else and move away from a ground we couldn't even fill in Superleague.
I have just re-read the 2020 end of year statement from the CEO, trying to justify the move to Wimbledon as it was required for SL, but given we are going to head into 2022 with absolutely no chance of promotion, why are they pressing ahead with it? Why not stay at Trailfinders and explore the opportunity to hire a 10,000 seat stadium 4 or 5 times if we were to hit the top flight?
Superleague have not one iota of a chance of denying London a SL place should they win promotion. Given some of the holes they currently allow teams to play in, trailfinders is fit for our needs......I watched the highlights of the wire salford game earlier.....the empty concrete terracing for a derby of 2 sides less than 20 miles apart....so the question remains is why are they pressing ahead.

| Very reliable sources told me there was a serious discussion within Superleague about blocking Broncos promotion after the million pound game win, on the grounds of where the club played. It is quite possible Broncos would be blocked from returning to Superleague playing at Trailfinders.
What the plan is that will cause promotion to be a realistic possibility will presumably be revealed in these top secret minutes. Or perhaps not

The club's thinking seems far from joined up. If the move was driven by a desire for a return to SL, why is this combined with a switch to part time and the weakest squad will we likely ever have seen at the club.

Agreed Buzz it makes no sense at all, unless Orange is right & we get a spot in the 20 on location, development & ground (wimbledon) reasons.
AFC have had a really good start to the season so that might limit interest in us by their fans.

| I don't think we need to worry about SL promotion. Champ relegation in the other hand...

Depressing this Monday morning to read what Ralph Rimmer thinks! 'Standing Still is Not an Option' hasn't Ralph himself taken us Backwards as a Sport! since he took over tenure as CEO? and his predecessor was also a complete failure! both paid over the top excessive salaries. Just look who is on the panel to take us forward! Gary Hetherington & Eamon McManus, neither fill me with any confidence! No wonder they are afraid of Eddie Hearn, who delivers more money, that the rest have had Hot Dinners!
