I was hoping for something a bit more inspring than either Lowes or Cummins. Lowes, in particular, being one of my least favorite players.

Then Lowes would be perfect.

It is unfortunate that McDermott has obviously put people off the idea of a player moving from playing into coaching. However this is not an issue for me, and it happens all the time.

I'm not sure why people think that being an assistant at an NRL side before moving to being a head coach in Super League is more acceptable than being an assistant at a Super League side and doing the same thing. Cummins and Lowes have extensive experience in the English game - yet people would prefer to recruit an Australian with no head coach experience either or knowledge of Super League? Curious.

Who are better coaches? Maguire, Morgan and Brown....or Mcnamara, Mcdermott and Lowes? Id take the 3 Aussies any day over the 3 Brits. Sad, but true. There isnt enough strength in depth in our country to create top coaches who have had to really achieve and push to reach the top.

Irrelevant. You could name plenty of Aussie flops too.

I think Bradford spawned perhaps the biggest batch of Rugby League staff that have come from one Super League club and most of them were forwards who benefitted from size and strength rather than subtleness or skill.

Brian McDermott, James Lowes, Paul Anderson, Mike Forshaw, Steve McNamara, Robbie Paul, Paul Deacon, Iestyn Harris, Stanley Gene, Glenn Morrison, Matt Calland, Warren Jowitt, Paul Medley, Abi Ekoku, Scott Naylor

Of this list, it is difficult to suggest that any of the forwards have been a successful head coach in their own right and arguably the biggest prospects are Harris and Robbie Paul with the best potential 'forward' manager being perhaps Paul Anderson. I have nothing against Bradford but nothing for them either.

It would be better to have an experienced manager and if that is Brian Noble I would be pleased - I just don't want someone chancing their arm with our club as their personal University. This is especially the case if they have been here and looked hapless and been beaten 60-8.

Listy's right about Aussie flops (John Monie, anyone?).

I have nothing against Bradford apart from the fact that they wanted us kicked out of the league.

Thinking about it, I'd be happy with Bradford being kicked out and replaced by Halifax icon_biggrin.gif

If I had to take a British coach Id take Sharp. I wouldnt go near Lowes or Harris or any of the inexperienced assistants. Never been sure about Kear, but probably second best.

The club should be in Daniel Anderson's ear. He'd be perfect.

Sharp did well at the Giants, a great defensive coach, after 5 years it was time to move on. Quins could do a lot worse.

Would be great if Jimmy Dymock made his first grade coaching debut with us!
