Hi Guys. Mr Clarke is actually right in some aspects, though a little silly to say it in the press. Super League doesn't need a poorly supported team either home or away and one which has had several supposed homes over the last 10 years and NONE have worked. What it fact needs is a club like London/Harlequins/Broncos??? to start at the bottom and really work at the roots of the sport and not fast track with no substance and a serious disregard of rules, i.e. foreign players, wages to income, etc.. This off season London and Bradford have been a blot to our fantastic game, with their off field antics.

As for Widnes, growing crowds, a huge depth of talent that has come through, great stadium, growing within the guidelines and OH I actually think they where the first official world champions beating a star studded Canberra side which would be the envy nowadays of any Aussie side let alone English

Enjoy the game Saturday, where I am sure London will show their true colours as Widnes open up the away end for the masses!!!

I'll deal with you bit by bit if that's OK.
First up, if an away team brings 1,500 fans to your ground and these fans spend 20 quid on a ticket and 20 quid on beer/pies/in the shop, then that's 60k your club gets over the counter that day.
Widnes Vikings turned over close to 4.8 million quid in 2012....so that's 0.0125% of your turn over we cost you. Rather than whine like a bitch, why not try and attract 125 more HOME fans to your games and grow your fan base, which has had close to a 100 year head start on London.
As for out home fans, or severe lack of them, this plays no role in Widnes Vikings ability to increase their own revenues and therefore is none of your business.

Foreign players dispensation ran out probably before you were born whilst income we have covered (we are debt free) and we have never broken the salary cap, so I fail to see your relevance in mentioning wages?

Quote: Nickh "This off season London and Bradford have been a blot to our fantastic game, with their off field antics.'"

Where you not born in 2007 or did you forget about going into administration.....something only Bradford have done this off season. We are still debt free!

Quote: Nickh "As for Widnes, growing crowds'"
2013 was 1% down on 2012 and 15% down on 2011. Get your carer to explain "growing" to you.

Quote: Nickh ", a huge depth of talent that has come through'"
Name the last Widnes player to score 4 tries in one game for England/GB in a major international tournament.

Quote: Nickh " great stadium, '"
owned by the council and never full.

Quote: Nickh "growing within the guidelines'"
you're on that many warnings you daren't not keep to the rules!

Quote: Nickh "and OH I actually think they where the first official world champions beating a star studded Canberra side which would be the envy nowadays of any Aussie side let alone English'"

Did your carer tell you about that, because there's no way you were alive when that happened!

Quote: Nickh "Enjoy the game Saturday, '"
doubtful. I expect us to get spanked!
Quote: Nickh "where I am sure London will show their true colours '"
Black and Blue?
Quote: Nickh "as Widnes open up the away end for the masses!!!'"
stupid northerners....why wouldyou do that when it's well know we travel in a taxi?

To be fair to him, I think a lot of our former players are disgruntled

a) Mainly because of the way they and their friends were treated at the end of 2013

or

b) Because of the way the club has been run.

There are some who both of the above apply to.

Jonathan Clarke came out of Prison and was directly signed by the London Broncos and it would be a fair bet to say that he would probably have taken an alternative Northern offer from a Super League club if one was available; we may very well have been his only SL option.

Without our club at the time he may well have been semi-professional in the North and have retained the lifestyle which had previously seen him brawling and breaking necks and which has caused him trouble. A break for a year must have reinvigorated his career.

We also agreed to loan him to Warrington where he managed to obtain a permanent new deal and spend the majority of his career.

We have been fundamentally important to him.

But the difference between a man and a dog, is that if you look after the dog it will not bite you.

Gutters is like an older brother, he'll make the younger brothers life hell, he'll beat him black and blue daily until he becomes an adult...BUT if anyone else tries it, he gets all defensive and beats up the other guy and protects his brother. You're an odd chap Gutters

Does Super League need London? The simple answer is probably no however, for Rugby League to be taken seriously by the masses it needs a competitive International structure and to do that it needs to be competitive nationally. Over recent years we (England) have fallen way behind the Aussies and we have even picked players who, although qualify for England, are not English (would any of them get in an Aussie or NZ team?) The player pool from the 'heartlands' is not enough.

I think you'll find Sky only upped the ante for RL when the RFL confirmed that SLE would include a London club, I'm not sure of the new agreement, but the 2 x 12 into 3 x 8, would mean that London could be relegated but still feature in Sky's broadcasting.

So everyones happy, WE ofcourse, will be happier if we lodge ourselves firmly in the 1st 12 on a regular basis!
