| Quote Chris Brown="Chris Brown"Agree its pointless doing comparisons with any of the 'one off' type events
The problem still exists that crowds are disappointing and although the last few have been 4000 ish, two of the three were against the top 2 which should always be a draw for floating fans
Home matchers against Bradford and Salford will show whether 4000 is sustainable. I have my doubts as its back in the soccer season but time will tell
Lets hope their is some decent marketing to support these games which a re very key in terms of the play offs'"
Why is it one off?
The saints game happens every year and they are one of the glamout teams that everyone turns out to see. 4 years ago 8k turned up to watch them, it would be interesting to see what the attendences were for the other years.

Because it was the first game as Quins, first at the Stoop for some years
I guess that makes it unique and a one off

| Quote Prince of Denmark="Prince of Denmark"We've had two mascots for as long as I can remember, and when we played at The Valley they used to ride up and down the touchline on mini-scooters firing water pistols into the crowd, which they no longer do, so we've actually gone backwards in this respect. No wonder we can't pull bigger crowds!'"
I agree with you that the latest incarnations of Buck and Dusty are neither as active or inspiring as some of their predecessors.
Who on the administrative side at the club might be interested in this fan-based feedback, do you think, and how might we convey this feedback (assuming others agree with it)?
Dare I mention also that we used to have the definitive leading cheerleader squad in the Super League (in the shape of the Cow Girls and then the Harlequin Hearts), or is that an observation too far?

My first season supporting the club was the last one at The Stoop first time round and only Buck existed back then.
I agree, I think the new Buck isn't anywhere near as good as the old one
That's because we had the "wonderful" Mad Max

| Quote Probably about usual, but certainly not as many as for the 8,000 total attendance for the first match as Harlequins, which included easily the biggest visiting contingent for any SL match I've seen in London.'"
Think Castleford may have brought more (or does time make things seem bigger and better) when we were at Brentford and they had the Jungle Tour. Does anyone remember that game or the numbers Castleford brought? Think they paid £5 which included entry and coach fare and the rest was paid by their club sponsors.

It was at The Valley was it not? And they took the whole of 1 stand? I think it was 5k or something.

I was being totally flippant. I wasn't expecting people to take me seriously and start agreeing with me!
My favourite Buck & Dusty moment was at Griffin Park when Corey Simms (now of london Skolars) performed on the pitch in front of the main stand with his rap band at half time and Buck & Dusty got in amongst them and joined in with their dance moves. It was a bit like Jarvis Cocker going onstage with Michael Jackson!
It's a shame they didn't do something similar with the "unstoppable" Elvis impersonator against Saints last season.

Ah, I do apologise for taking you seriously
My impression is that our latest Buck and Dusty could contribute more on match days.
I wonder if they know what good looks like - and, if not, who might be able to rekindle the magic of Buck and Dustys past?

| 4,258 against an average for St's of 4,764 over the last 10 years is bad. PB seems to be trying to get people in, but with no budget available, I can't see the magic 5k average being hit by 2011.
Reading other post on here about Union fans not enjoying the game and not coming back is a big worry. Mr Evans has given the club a chance to market to his fan base and if we can't convert them, then we really are in trouble.

| Why should we rely on converting RU fans? If it was the other way round there is no way I would go and watch RU and be converted from league. The two games are a different product. What is important is for those people who do turn up have a good match day experience and want to return regardless of whether they prefer union, football or some other form of entertainment.

I'm not saying we should rely on converting them, just that we have been give access to the RU database. I really don't care who the club target....but 4,258 is a shocking crowd figure for a game against the competition leaders and one of the Biggest names in the game........

| Quote wire-quin="wire-quin".....and you think we have been consistently attracting crowds of that size do you or was that a "one off"? I will leave that to you to decide.
For me we have gone forwards as we are now selling pies at games and have 2 mascots. Thats about as significant as your one eyed post.'"
And their opponents on that wednesday night in '54 were a very good team called Halifax currently sitting on top of the Championship. What do they now get 1k?. Now that is really going backwards.
