| All true which is why the club has an identity crisis.
Even the owner can't decide what the club is which is a why an assault on Super League is supposedly being planned from a park pitch.
If Broncos can't regain former status the sensible option would be for Hughes to roll the club into Skolars & pool resources.
Otherwise it's just 2 small fish in a puddle.

Will you ever come up with a sensible, or even considered alternative ?
Every post seems to be set up so you can close out by turning out one of your highly comical stock derogatory comments.
As for pooling with Skolars, do you actually know ANYTHING about rugby league in this region ?

| I'm hardly talking about merging Spurs with Arsenal.
There is already a crossover with fans attending fixtures of both clubs.
Skolars have a stadium & are well run off the pitch.
David Hughes has money.
The sticking point would be not letting Hughes getting involved in any decision making capacity.
Which is a big sticking point admittedly.

| So in the same vein why not merge hull and hull kr . Or Keighley and Halifax, let's merge wakey cas and fev, maybe Bradford and Leeds.
So what do you say about Hemel should they go as well?
What is the point of any sport? Teams go out week in week out with the intention of doing the best they can, they all have an ambition to improve and either win at the level they play or progress to higher level competition.
Some teams are restricted in how high they want to go due to restricted finances, I would imagine this includes skolars.
So as ideas go that is one of yr daftest

| Those clubs don't need to merge.
If Broncos don't get back to Super League they're occupying the same turf as Skolars.
Then survival of the fittest will come into play & Broncos have no assets & plenty of liabilities.

I would be interested in the list of actual assets that Skolars have in comparison to Broncos. I think you'll find both are dependent on their main benefactors.
On a broader basis what circumfrence is the same turf? This could place Salford/Swinton, Batley/Dewsbury, Widnes/Warrington, Wigan/Leigh, Leeds/Hunslet in a bit of a pickle as they are not very far apart at all. Of course if the proximity of these neighbours, where some are in SL and some are not, doesn't matter then why should it in London. I mean one is in North London and one is now in West London.

| Those communities are steeped in RL tradition though.
London isn't.
2 clubs playing at the same level, or near as dammit, doesn't make sense.
Skolars are the nearest to a community based London club as at least they don't up sticks every couple of years.
Merge with them & totally rebrand.

| I said NEAR AS DAMMIT damn it.
Broncos are effectively a 3rd tier club which is a cigarette paper away from where Skolars are in the grand scheme of things.

| As someone who watches a lot of RL at Skolars level I disagree. The fate of Hunslet last season shows there is a big on the field gap. As long as that is maintained we need both clubs. They offer opportunities to different players. It also permits Skolars ro hunt juniors in the Tottenham area with the best entering the Broncos system and ex Broncos academy lads feeding into Skolars first team. Mutually beneficial.
Clearly if Broncos decline further and are relegated / go semi pro / the academy packs up etc we may hit a point whereby the bigger picture says we should stop splitting resources but we aren't there yet.
The blunt truth is Hemel are probably the only southern team not funded by benefactors to some degree. It's not a good place to be but I don't think merging Broncos and Skolars would do anything to address the situation.
I'm also not sure Skolars, a proud stand alone team, would have much interest in merging with the Broncos.
