 Harsh mate, very harsh.

| Quote tim791="tim791"Melling's performance was woeful.
And the excuse of just coming back from injury, is no excuse.
Alot of the time, he is able to keep up with the attacking player.. But then his decision making skills lets him down.
He tries to push the person out, and really he should just tackle the man.
And some of the breaks Castleford made, they got to Melling, and ran straight round him, with almost no effort at all.
Woeful performance.
Glad Ricky's back for Bradford, we need him for Full back.

The ones that saw Mark today, was it just me, or is he starting to gain back his bulk again?
Before he looked so skinny, but now hes started building it back up?
or is it just me?'"
This just shows how extreme this is, I totally agree with tim791.
Melling put in one of the worst performances I have ever seen today.

Indeed. I know I have been quick to slate Sheriffe in the past but after seeing that today I realise I have been unbelievebly harsh on Rikki.

I agree with Dave,
Melling should be dropped. And not played for a very long time.
I would say put him in the reserves, but that would do no good for our reserves.
The only plus out of today, was that are reserves won, even if Castleford's reserves are bottom of the table, and we're still 4th.
Final score for reserves is,
Harlequins RL 34 - 14 Castleford Tigers.

No - we thought the same. I'd still be inclined to give him the rest of the season off, though.
As for Melling, I can't help but think that he shouldn't have played at all - surely had he been fit he would have performed better.

I think we should see how he is at the end of the season.
Myself and my mum, talked to Melling before the game, during the reserves game, he said he was deffinity going to play in the first team game, and he said at first he thought to be out for longer, but he felt completely fine.
PS, did you see Melling's performances before he got injured?
You must not of if you think that
Dave will enlighten you when he gets back from, whereever he went. Pmsl.

Completely agree that Dorn is not the only answer.
BUT we do need better support players. When St Helens and Leeds and other top teams make a break support comes flooding through on both sides and more often than not it results in a try.
Time and time again when we make a clean break there is one player in support at best and they are quickly out numbered and swamped by defenders.
Two concrete examples yesterday. Once when Purdham made a break in the first and the only player up in support was Randall. Another time in the second half Heckenberg made a break and he had no one with him.
This isn't really a this year problem, it has been there for the last few years. 2005 was probably the last year I recall that our players pushed through and properly supported the player with the ball. And even then it wasn't consistent enough.
If there is one thing Luke does really well it is that he arrives in close support to finish off a move.
If we are relying on him for our main creative and play making options then we are stuffed.

| i'd like to see luke back, but the position we really need is a stand-off with henry and scott hill leaving, we don't seem to have anyone to play there.

At least SOMEONE saw sense (apart from my good self).
