Why is that some people on here who do nothing for the game apart from post endless comments on the internet think it's acceptable to shoot someone down who's actively trying to do something positive for the sport in London.
You know, actually doing something.

How can some people make a statement, when they know nothing about the person they knock and what they have done and put into the game.
I don't need to defend myself to you, I know what I have done and put into the sport of rugby league, amateur & professional and that's all that counts.

| I don't think a third KPC1 team will do anyone any good. There are not the resources - players, fans, investors, media coverage - for three teams at that level. We'd end up cannibalising each other and no-one would be able to progress. Ironically, we'd end up with the situation the game faces in the north, where too many small clubs fight over the same resources.
Assuming the Broncos go under then I'd suggest we'd all be better off picking either Skolars or Hemel and supporting them.
If, however, the Broncos survive this then I'd wholeheartedly support the formation of a Trust to get involved and become involved in the club. There's a lot we could do to improve the club.

| I can't believe what I am reading on this thread! How this can be a bad thing is beyond me.
I wish you all the best of luck with it. Although due to the distance I'd be more inclined to support Skolars.

| I personally think another team in SW London would be a good thing if player development is in place and the RFL keep running a London Academy that loans players to Southern teams.
If Medway also went up to the Champ level then it would increase competition with the likes of Gateshead, Oxford and so on. It would give more opportunity for competitive games and teams to be successful.
I live near Hemel and have already sorted my season ticket but wish Phoenix RL all the best. The main thing they need is a home ground and a community to work in. Moving and lack of identity killed the Broncos.

| Im also thinking this can only be a good thing. The more clubs you have in the London area at the higher levels possible the more noticable the sport will be.
If you could get 10 clubs up and running in London and the southwest that would be great, its as if people who love RL love burying their heads in the sand.
Go for it, i may be a northerner but every team we can get playing this sport is s shot in the arm for the game.

| In the nicest possible way, this "London Phoenix" thing is utterly redundant and not moving due to recent events and the words of Sean Long in this week's League Express.

| I can assure you it's not redundant at all. Of course I'm happy that the Broncos will be playing in 2014, but the project should be much longer term than just fulfilling next year's fixtures.
I really believe that a supporter owned club can deliver for Rugby League in West and South West London, and the work that has started won't stop just yet.
Of course this whole thing started by asking Broncos supporters whether they thought a supporter stake in the Club was desirable. The feedback then Was positive; engagement with the Phoenix idea has exceeded my expectations, and I think those who will form the Phoenix Trust would be more than interested in a constructive discussion with the new Broncos regime about the way forward from 2015 on.
Rugby League lovers will shape the destiny of the game if they have the will to work at it. We've watched the misfirings for 30 years and WE CAN DO BETTER.

I support what you are trying to do here and wish you well, but you wanting to talk to the owners doesn't mean they'd want to talk to you.
Anything that has connections with the club circa 2006-2013 needs to be gone for a "new dawn" to have any chance of success.....David Hughes has presided over the worst period of ownership/management/results in the 18 years of SL and blame for this fiasco has to be pretty much entirely laid at his feet for his terrible, almost criminal, decision making and appointment making. If he is involved after 2015, then you'd be better looking at sticking to creating your own club and growing it yourself.

In which case are they in the market for a CEO?

Thanks for the encouragement and I do agree with your sentiment. The day is approaching fast though when David Hughes has to pass on the baton. I think there are enough committed League lovers to pick up that baton if offered. If not, as you rightly say, we'll do it ourselves from scratch!

| The formation of a new club, be it in 2014 or 2015, should be the last thing on anyone's mind, in my opinion.
The key thing to do now, and this is purely my opinion, is to actually push on and actually form a Supporter's Trust.
Work out how much fees will be and if there will be different levels of membership, form a committee of people who have experience in specific areas (such as someone who works in finance as treasurer) and then, most importantly, work out at a public meeting what the Trust want to do, how they are going to go about achieving that and how long it will take.
I would also suggest making a professional offer (by letter, for example) to David Hughes, if he is to be chairman, to attend a meeting with the Supporters Trust so that the club and the Trust could liaise with each other about the future of the club.

| Good idea Moe. I don't think anything should be ruled out. A trust owned Broncos with David Hughes as member number 1 would be something to work for, and a fitting tribute to David's commitment over many years.

I would get yourselves in touch with Supporters Direct if you haven't already. They proved very helpful to us (Wakefield) when setting up our Supporters Trust.
I wish you all the best because with the best will in the world getting the fans to buy into the idea is really difficult. Our Trust has been going for almost 3 years and we are really struggling to grow our membership. Maybe in your case it will be different as your aims are probably slightly different to what ours were, and as I said I wish you good luck with it.
Speak to Supporters Direct though, they would be very keen to help you with this I'm sure.
