| Whatever you think of The Hive, location not perfect, transport not perfect either. It suits our needs especially with the crowds we draw. With some stability and with the team we are building, we could actually go forward.
To my mind if the deal is on the table and financially it can be made to work, it is a deal that should be done.
Remember that Barnet FC are pledged to long term return the Barnet area, so we could even end up with our own stadium.
A pipe dream I know, but the on the roller coaster ride that following the broncos is, who knows what will happen.

Since they've been forced into selling Underhill, I think their return is also a pipe dream. Especially given the hostility of the council in Barnet

Stability is extremenly important to attract fans, however so is an indication of ambition. The hive is a very nice Championship ground and no more. Ten years commitment there would indicate there is either no SL ambition in that time or a hope that various planning consents to expand the ground would be approved. If a move happens, it will be a key indicator of London's aspirations - even if that is down to league 1.

Absolutely right - if it were down to me I'd have AK's right arm off him if it meant we got the stability of 10 years at what is an excellent ground for us. Looks as if there would be room to expand should it be needed - and a chance as a club to put down roots ( yeah I know there was the Stoop but that's in the past now isn't it ?) .
Knowing Broncos the deal will probably be thrown away in favour of our continued nomadic existence!

It's a rumour, so I can't prove it and have no knowledge of the terms allegedly on offer. But given our history, I wouldn't bet against it being true.'"
I'd heard this, so I was surprised when the planning went in without catering for extending the pitch for rugby. It indicated to me that TK didn't feel the extra expense was worthwhile and so a long term deal with Broncos had probably gone cold.
Any return to Barnet is a very long way off \ if ever . The cards didn't fall our way unfortunately. Even if in 10-15 years something did happen the Hive would still be our training centre and home to London Bees and the development squad.

I think you underestimate what the Hive is turning into, in 5-10 years time it will in all probability have double it's current capacity.
Next Wednesday a new North stand that is identical to the West Stand is recommended for approval.

| I like the Hive. We should stay put if there is an option to do so.

| I think it will all boil down to money. Both in respect to what Barnet expect out of the deal, and for the Broncos, what their ambitions are and what they would cost.
I am sure that The Hive will become a stadium which would be acceptable for Super League and if we were to put down proper roots we could prosper there,
But it needs commitment and planning. It also needs to be marketed. We not too good at that.
Still time will tell.

I'd be interested to know where and when you first heard that there were discussions going on about a long term deal at the Hive. I seem to remember a much lambasted poster of this manor discussing these negotiations back in 2014, but as he's no longer permitted to post in this "clique" I am sure people will instead take your "inside knowledge" rather than accept that the Keyboard 12k miles away was once again, bang on the money.
Anyway, I am not in the least surprised that it seems to have fallen through given the well documented negotiation skills of our owner......was he waiting for Blake to come in with the RFL cheque book again?

There is no clique, but there was a personally abusive poster who resorted to thinly disguised expletives when he could no longer resolve the conflict between his enormous ego and limited vocabulary.
Quote: Jim Pooley "I am sure people will instead take your "inside knowledge" rather than accept that the Keyboard 12k miles away was once again, bang on the money....'" I clearly identified that it was a rumour and never claimed to have inside knowledge. But like the aforementioned poster you seem quite happy to distort what people write on here for your own purposes.

People that feel uncomfortable with what is being stated normally resort to accusing the deliverer of having a big ego, or even a hidden agenda. There was and I still believe is, a perfectly serviceable "ignore" function on this forum for those who prefer to live in a "cloistered" world, protected from images of Mackay on his knees in front of Hughes, which I believe was something that the poster in question claimed was a possibility and you reacted to with overzealous righteous indignation.
