| Dunno, but posts like this doesn't help. I've been on this BB for less than 3 weeks & there are not many positives from what I've read. If anything I get the feeling why should I support the club? I'll start... this year we'll be in the play-offs & the following in the semi-finals.

There are never any positives on this forum....it's part of the self flagellation that is being a London RL fan......it's that addictive that even though it's well over 2 years since I moved to NZ, I still care when the club are attacked by w$nk3ers like Rupe1 who have nothing of any substance to say but feel that because the Quins name has been binned they somehow occupy the moral high ground.
As for the Play-offs, I have no doubt we will make the 8....anything less and I will be screaming for the return of the quartered shirts

| Nice one. I can say that I've been watching LondonRL on and off with my moving around the UK since 1981 when I left Oz for Blighty being a long time St George fan before. Maybe we should have a 'who's who' on this non-real-names BB and more positive posts in our beliefs for the London team.

The club and most of its fans who frequent boards such as this one, know exactly who I am. Gutterfax, Barney, Barnaby.....it really makes no difference as to what name I post under.........the points I make are pertinant and in this case, Rupe1, who, together with other posters here and elsewhere claimed that thousands of fans had left the game in London because of the Union tie in.....which is 100% complete and utter b0ll0x as well as highlighting the biggest challenge facing TGG..........the inability to get past petty intollerance issues when it comes to the other rugby code.
I have posted many positive threads....I will continue to do so, but in this case, the snake in the grass that is rupe1 needs to be shown up as the bitter w4nk3r he is. I have no doubt that maybe 100 or so returned for the first time since 2005............I have no quarrel with them or their standpoint regarding the union tie in as they didn't declare it in a public forum.......and they didn't return to gloat when the 6 year period in which the club had the best averages for fans came to an end......simply put, HARLEQUINS RL had a better fan average than the Broncos v1.0.......the decision surrounding the name change had little to do with anything other than trying to attract new revenue streams,........something that is more of a struggle than the club bargained for.
As I say, 8th of better and a CC semi, or I wil be crying out for a return to the Fulham name and colours

Thanks for the calm comments. I do gather that many of the dozen most regular posters here all know each other which is fantastic. The few BB's I regularly post on, we all tend to know each other too & many socialise although food & wine. As a newbie it would be nice to be made welcome and I quess so far I've not been flamed! As a Broncos/QuinsRL/Broncos v.2 season ticket holder I've been feeling the painful bits too.
PS I don't know Rupe1 but that last locked post sure did cause a reaction!!!!

Paddock Punter, Listy, Windyone, Wire-quin and/or east stander (depends on the meds that day) Dan Staines, The Penguin and a few others...including Listy, have been know to meet for a bevy.....Paddock is the travel guru and I can say that although I have never travelled up norf on the PP Xpres, it does come highly recommended.
There are many positives to be found as a supporter of the London ESL franchise........no evidence of the oft mentioned financial bail outs we receive monthly has ever been found, we accept the abuse from certain flat earth types with a wry smile, given that we are thre b'stard love child of Lewis and Murdoch and our very existance really does pi55 off some from Halifax/Leigh.........all in all, it's a fun experience

| All of rupes mates were too cold to come down
would have been interesting to know the gate had the forecast not been for the worst weekend of the winter so far, must have at least knocked a few off the St Helens travel knowing what they would hit on the return leg.

| Until 11am it was uncertain if the game was even going to be on.
I don't know if there are stats to show if the football gates were down this weekend, but freezing weather does not a good crowd make.

| I would imagine a few took the advice given not to travel unless absolutely necessary GF, but don't let that stop you sunning it up down under

1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |

5,029 was the average gate in 7 matches between St Helens and Harlequins RL.......we are led to believe by the rupster et al that thousands would flock back to watch the game once we changed shirts....where were they on Saturday?'"
I think you are being a little hard on last Saturday's attendance! did you not take into consideration the weather and the doubts if it would be on? that there was only an 11am pitch inspection and that people have to travel?
It was more than attended the first home game at The Stoop last season and more than the last match against St Helens at home, I am told. I feel we will be successful if we can average around 5,500 this season, perhaps if we get it together on the pitch and the summer arrives we can get closer to 6,000 average.

I was going to bring down another of my kids (only one is a ST holder) & some of their mates and would have other than the fact I wasn't 100% sure the game was going ahead. It's to far for us to come down with the off change the game will be postponed. I will be bring a few of my wino mates to the Huddersfield game so am hoping for some warmer weather by then.

| My parents and 1 of my friends didn't come due to uncertainty and the weather. Agree with last 2 posts, good attendance in the circumstances. But on the other hand, the deserters are the definition of fair weather fans, maybe they will come along when the sun comes out

| I thought it was a decent turn out on Saturday given the weather and doom and gloom forecasts for the return journey. 3 season ticket holders from our group did not make it and I know of others. The team put on a good display and if they continue to do so at their home games then I really think that this year the numbers will pick up……just a positive gut feeling. Also thought that the crowd seemed more enthusiastic…good atmosphere.

simpsons/017.jpg Welcome Quins Kitties born 02.04.09 -
Purdo - Determined, loveable with a "can-do" attitude. A born leader.
Louie - Big, white and fluffy. A very noisy prop forward.
Harley- Cute and gorgeous (just like our no.9) Well, I couldn't call her Chad, could I?
Update on Quins Mogs :-
Purdo - deffo leader amongst Mogs. The Capo.
Louie - turned out to be more like Louie Spence than LMS. Re-named Judas.
Harley - Cute but not as gorgeous as our no.9.
Oh well, at least I haven't got a Willy.:simpsons/017.jpg |

| I was amazed at the number of people that turned up! Gutters, it was bitterly cold in London and the weathermen on London Radio said we were in for 7 inches of snow after dark.
6 STH I know didn't come because of the cold and travelling issues and tbh, when I heard all the football games in the SE were off, I didn't think for a minute that our game would be on (and you have to remember that a vast amount of our fans don't live in the local area)
There were some newbies at the game (Aussies behind me who seemed to enjoy it) and it was great to see so many Sts fans turn up when the easy option would have been to stay at home.
For me, this is a well done to all involved in getting the game on and turning up.
