| Who on earth are we going to get?
I assume it’s going to be either someone from L1/amateur RL, someone who has dropped out of the game or an Aussie who has links to a minor WorldCup bound team. Anyone got any thoughts? It’s really difficult to see a path out of where we are being beaten by more than 3 scores by (for the time being) the worst team in the league.

| Daryl Powell might be looking for a job pretty soon.
I believe he applied for the coaches job when mac left. We got the other Powell that time.

| As long as they don't dig up Sandy or Enoch Powell we should be ok.

Wouldn’t be a massive surprise if after an exhaustive and thorough recruitment policy our bulldog management team recruited someone who was dead to the post (but apparently they had a very good knowledge of the London and South East RL scene).

| It matters little who Hughes employs.... we're going down as surely as a £5 hooker and in L1 it's pub football where the expansion sides go to reassess if it's worth the effort.
Bottom half this year is like an expansionists graveyard with sides from west Wales, Coventry, London and Cornwall all vying for bottom spot with little funding from the game to help them out.
Same in SL. If Toulouse drop down this year then I expect moves to a 2x10 announced for 2024 with a couple of invitational sides......personally, if were invited I'm done with the club. We shouldn't need favours at this stage.

| Think we should go for Alexander Dennis or Plaxton but if we want some European influence maybe Van Hool would be a good choice.

| We could go for a Duple, which at one time was local to us. However they are probably too old.

Knowledge of the London RL scene is a must though....as it helps us to recruit all those Aussies? Oh hold on that doesn’t make any sense....sigh.

Surely even in our management’s run of poor decision making they would not mix up the need for a new coach with the need for a coach (4 wheels). Thinks.... no you’re right it is plausible they could do it. Real benchmark test for them this!

| BT be fair, the best performing part of the team this season so far has been Andersons.
Perhaps if we parked the bus on the try line & just defended the rest we might to better. Of course, it could keep getting caught offside but hey ho.

Yes they’ve played a blinder. Not once have we turned up at the wrong ground. Might as well have done but credit where it’s due.
Remember the early part of the season where we generally defended well just had no attack? Those days are gone. Agreed let’s park the bus and go for a 0-0 against Dewsbury.

| Hopefully we don’t get into a phase of playing well against the better sides (but ultimately losing) and playing badly against the weaker sides. Coming up is the must win against Dewsbury but the way Widnes are playing currently that might be a game to target as well. I wonder if we will have a new coach in by then? If not it’s difficult to see the point. Not sure we want to announce a new coach just prior to an absolute spanking by Rovers.

| I could see Hughes having us continue with Mike Eccles til the end of the season, like with Tom Tsang last year after Danny Ward got the push

The only problem with that is the new coach (if there ever is one) might not like the ex-coach still at the club. We then lose a very good conditioning/fitness man. Different if Mike only does it for a couple of weeks though. Lord knows if Hughes is sounding anyone out, to paraphrase Titus Oates, I'm going to appoint a full time coach, I may be some time.
