The admin team has received a number of complaints from a number of different people about this board.

In particular, they have focused on the derailment that is ocurring on a number of threads, with posters coming up with the same comments time and again, irrespective of the thread topic.

The issue has also been raised of abusive language, such as 'retard'. Let us be clear – such language is not allowed here.

And behaviour that is considered as trolling or constant derailment can, under the terms of the AUP, be used as grounds to ban a poster.

In order to try to deal with this, you're going to have the benefit of my company over the coming weeks.

As of posting this, nobody has been banned. But that is an option for the reasons cited above.

I'm going to leave this annoucement unlocked.

If anyone has any constructive comments and/or suggestions about this forum, let's have an open discussion here. If you feel that you wish to say something privately, the private message system is available.

But let's keep it civil.

To bowdlerise 'Porridge'; he is an habitual offender, who accepts moderators as an occupational hazard, and presumably accepts banning in the same casual manner.

Neither rugby league nor London Broncos are subjects that are limited to one theme.

Nor, indeed, is the topic of Broncos' owner "verboten". As with any topic or theme, it is however, not to be deployed in every other thread, as it becomes derailment.

Perhaps you could start a thread dedicated to the issue of the club's management (with constructive criticism) and see if it becomes this forum's version of the legendary Virtual Terrace thread that was Joynt's Voluntary Tackle?

That would also allow you the chance to sound off about the subject (constructively), while anyone who wanted to could easily avoid that topic.

Sounds like an excellent and very reasonable proposal.
Maybe if a poster feels the need to repeat the same contents they could put it in their signature so other posters only need change their forum settings to not display signatures if they don't want to read the same information repeatedly.

In my opinion those who reply to the likes of Gutters and Cowgirl are just as bad as what they are. If nobody replied to their posts they would not get wound up and each and every post would not end up in a slanging match. I understand the meaning of the word forum which means every poster should be allowed to have an opinion on the topic, the word forum does not mean each topic should turn into a personal battle against each other. It is not difficult to put names in the frame who are the main offenders who turn this forum into a personnel slanging match.

Totally agree, on all sorts of levels, wantawin. But human nature is such (and I'm every bit as bad myself) that we let ourselves get caught up in stuff that we'd be better leaving be.

But gutters is clever. He posts a lot of reasonable and well-argued material as well as his oh so repetitive Hughes flogging and general abuse of many who dare to disagree with him. So , on some threads it's perfectly possible to conduct a constructive debate with him.

Point of order here.

I was issued with a lifetime ban for 1 breach of the AUP by side stepping the swear filter (as a joke I would add) substituting @ for a in a word that rhymed with banker.

There was no warning issued, it was a straight "Red" and by the time I had opened dialogue with the administrators to discuss the nature and reason for the ban, I had already popped back as enigmatic. This, due nothing more than bad timing and miscommunication
attracted the ire of the admins and we had the resultant new ID's and subsequent bans.

I do not "litter" the forum with different ID's and neither do attempt to hide my identity. My posting style is well known given I had a 20,000+ post career as Gutters and as I have shown on a number of occasions of late, I do not "derail" threads either.

When RONNIEQUIN announced to the world that he would take his 500 posts and play elsewhere unless action was taken, I asked him to point out any of the posts on the front page of the forum that I had hijacked. The simple truth was I hadn't. Give that thread is the third most popular one on here at present, behind Cowgirls "what are you watching on Sunday" and my 'Grand Final' thread, this forum seems preoccupied with certain posters more than those posters are with the threads about games? Strange, to say the least.

I do not hijack threads about games. I do make the occasional comment based on what I have read and heard regarding tactics and recruitment as it doesn't take a RFL qualified coach to see where we have been found lacking this season....nor do you need to have "been there".

as for the "insults" comments.
I was called a bell end and I responded by calling that person a retard. Simple etiquette would point to not being the first to throw insults if you're then going to run and whine to the mods when you get reciprocal treatment. You yourself perry have 1 particular instance that seems to have tarred my entire existence on these boards when
I questioned what act MacKay might be performing on Hughes to retain his employment...this one comment seems to have become me insulting all and sundry.

As for the topic of the remaining few fans. I applaud them, but at the same time reserve the right to take the mickey when they start to look and sound like a trainspotters convention. As one organiser of regular away travel who now supports Catalans remarked on facebook, "we used to take more away".....which got no rebuke, but when I post it on here, the clique circled their wagons.

The Bottom line here Perry.....and the rest of you, is that I have done and am prepared to do more for the club than most of you have or will, but I reserve the right to question and criticise the owner and his employees when they are seeming to make the same mistakes again. Repetitive it may be, but so are the errors that the club are making.....there is a direct correlation here.

So now we have Mintball giving her guidance when in reality, the only threads on here that were "off-piste" were the ones that were designed as such.....the recruitment thread is fine, the 2015 review is fine, Gareth Moore's thread is OK, Next seasons thread is in good nick......but still the whiners have run to teacher.

What happens next? In an ideal world, Gutterfax would have his posting rights reinstated with a flea in his ear and we could carry on as we have for over a decade, but somehow I doubt the admins will play that hand, so more than likely we will continue as we have for the last few months......it's not perfect, but I am as stubborn as the next man and I refuse to accept the lifetime ban without warning was either warranted or fair.

GF to be fair you have a message that you want to get across and are willing to drop it into any topic. I suspect thats the issue.

One of Corbyns brothers (sisters) has made a reasonable suggestion (Bottom up on behalf of Ronnie and co, one of the lefts new approaches) maybe you could keep your 20 point plan there and leave new recruits, plastic pitches, grand final reviews alone (daffodil free) or at least talk about the topic.

Feel free to point out the threads where I have instigated a drift by "dropping my message in".
The important bit here is where ininstigated the drift.......I think you'll find in a great many cases I am not the cause but just an easy Target.

For the sake of clarity:

• there were a number of complaints received about the state of this board – from a number of different people. Not just from one person and not just about one specific issue;

• the complaints did not just centre around the behaviour of any one individual poster – despite what his ego would have you believe;

• the ban on that particular poster was not connected to the issues around this board – and neither was the decision by a number of moderators across these forums to make that a 'ban on sight'.
