| He looked on the sideline as if he was going to have a nervous breakdown, Leeds can keep him! Sinfield won that match for the Rhinos! why he has got overlooked so much in his career is an injustice!

| You can have a good coach but at the end of the day is the quality of players on the park that counts and whether they want to play.

| Mac has got to four finals.
His two Cup Finals have seen Leeds have easy draws where they have played one top eight team each year on the way to the final.
In 2011 only Hull FC away was a tough match with lovely home ties v the bottom six were the rest of the ties. He was incredibly lucky in 2011 where they beat Castleford by a golden point in extre time after Rangi Chase missed an easy drop goal in the 79th minute and they had been outplayed for the majority of the game.
In 2012 again a lovely draw including Leigh Centurions in the quarter final and the bottom six took him to the semis and a good win v Wigan took him to the final.
Leeds have been well beaten in both Cup Finals but fair play he has got them there with nice draws and plenty of luck.
In the Grand Final semis he has won one by two points and one by one point but Leeds have looked pretty good in the majority of their games. Certainly had some good calls you'd suggest.
It could be argued that Leeds had been in the Grand Final year after year before Mac's arrival but he deserves some credit.
He can get decent performances out of older players but what he can't do is build a good squad because he is a poor judge of players and bad at enticing them in. There isn't a single player in the Leeds team as a permanent signing who Mac has found himself and pretty much none in our squad either.
He is a lucky son of a bitch that is for sure, I wish he'd coach the national team.

| Well done Mac, however re-building this ageing Leeds side will be the real measure of him.

Yes, Leeds fans must be gutted that McDermott is having the nerve to blood young players and promoting players from their youth setup, to great success so far, rather than making rafts of signings.
I suppose he is lucky that the likes of Hardaker and Watkins have come on leaps and bounds under his coaching, and that Stevie Ward is just a natural wonderkid who requires no coaching. Lunt was a signing that was questioned by Leeds fans and he has got better and better as the season has gone on.
McDermott is doing a fantastic job and I guess the majority of our fans are too bitter/jealous to acknowledge it. 4 finals in a row and still he is lucky

Sinfield is clueless, Mark Rammond knows more about the game and McDermott's coaching abilities.

| The point I made Dave is that Brian inherited a side who finished 5th and made the Grand Final year after year and he has maintained the club at more or less exactly the same standard as when he found it.
I'd suggest that Brian Mac and Brian McClennan have both done very well out of the side that Tony Smith built.
Whilst Brian has promoted from within the clubs ranks players like Kallum Watkins was already highly regarded prior to his appointment whilst Stevie Ward was featured in Rugby League World several seasons ago as a potential Great Britain Captain and has been with Leeds for many years as you would know. They would have been successful regardless of who the Head Coach was.
He's done well with Hardaker, Clarkson, the German student centre Keinhorst and one or two others who were more unexpected. I consider a great Coach to get more out of the player than what he has showed in the past and with these guys this is definitely the case.
But his senior signings have not been successful and he's already released several promising forwards like Pitts and Amor and given the old veterans new deals - the average age of the seventeen is greater than when he arrived and yet I see it implied within his mandate to build for the future rather than be signing more Richard Moores, Darrell Griffins and their like.
He's a very lucky coach who can get squeeze a lot out of what he has, the problem is there is nothing left after you do nothing but squeeze.
I just remember him leaving our club in a very sorry state indeed with a 20% win record over his last 40 games and mainly dross in the ranks and poor coaches and found him to be pretty rude and yes I don't like him particularly, well it would be fairer to say I don't mind him, because I like Leeds as a club. Not enough to wear their shirt at the Stoop but reasonably!
His record in the regular rounds of Super League must be the worst in the past 10 years at Leeds but what a one off coach he is proving to be. In semi final football mainly.

| Mac left a very good youth system in place and promoted the around the London amateur clubs. Since Mac went, there has been little if any input from the senior team/coaches that has been visible. For example Mac used to take the first team around the region and conduct trainings sessions which the young un’s could come and watch and all stopped once he left.
