| If nothing else it shows integrity. It would have been easy, assuming he was in the running, to leave a struggling team with a low and generally critical supporter base to go to what should be a year in/year out top 6 side.

And what? He is an excellent coach. I am still waiting for a better suggestion of someone that is available, affordable and willing to do the job, beyond Henry Paul

| Your wasting you time dave - it's the same as when the Sack Mac campaign started
OK sack Mac and then what - we don't have any money to pay him off or pay someone to take over

Regardless of what people's views are on the coach, any manager who is so bad that they should be sacked but is only still in a job because a club cant pay them off is a disgrace and should do the honourable thing and walk.
This is not to say that this is what is happening at Quins just that "Club X cant afford to sack their manager who refuses to quit" is an appalling situation for all involved

As you say, that isn't happening at Quins, McDermott is doing the honourable thing IMO and has more respect for the club.

| Why is this news?
I do believe a couple of weeks back Mac stood up in front of the cameras and said he was seeing out his contract
Its a couple of really good grunt forwards we need, not a change of coach

| This is news because McDermott said unless something drastic/unexpected happens (or words to that effect) he would be at Quins, which left him room to manoeuvre. I think it is pretty clear he has been speaking to Bradford at some stage during this summer.
This finally confirms he will be staying.

It is news only because while BMcD probably knew a couple of weeks back he wouldn't be getting the Brdford job it hadn't been announced.

| 1) John Kear
2) Henry Paul
3) Tony Rea
4) Iestyn Harris
5) Karl Harrison
6) Paul Sculthorpe
7) Paul Anderson
Damian McGrath
9) Paul Cullen
10) Danny Orr
I would take 2 or 3 of these over McDermott, Tawhai, Powell and the Union conditioners, I would only keep the youth coaches.
Some people on here have 'battered wife syndrome' in wanting Mac to remain, most coaches in the lower leagues are better than him
