| I have read all the posts tonight and agree with plenty and disagree with a lot. I thought I would post an account of my day, seeing as a few people lately have accused me of not being bothered, being a part time supporter, and oddly, not evem exisiting! Read it if you like.
I watched Coronation Street and Neighbours last night on ITV Player and FiveOD before calling it a night, as I was up early in the morning. My alarm went off at 6am, took a quick shower, sorted all my stuff out and left my flat, walking from the suburbs of Sheffield into the city centre. It was a good 45 minute walk but I made it with 15 minutes to spare. Fortunately, the coach was pretty empty, perhaps there were 15 people on board, so I had space to relax. After an extended stop at Milton Keynes, I finally disembarked, bowling to Marble Arch and taking the Central Line to Tottenham Court Road before travelling southbound on the Northern Line to Waterloo. Here I met up with The Penguin and Leeboy (a Maidstone resident) in the Hole in the Wall, a regular haunt now the club have decided to make our games a 2pm kick off.
After a couple of pints we made our way to the station, and the train to Twickenham. Delayed slightly, the journey was OK, and we arrived with 25 minutes to spare. Here, we met up with a few Salford supporters, who believed they stood no chance. Made our way to the ground, got a pint, took our seats in AG (the block of kings) and enjoyed the first half, where we were in complete control. Salford are one of the worst teams I have seen in years, including our goodselves.
Anyway, half time came, the Salford supporters changed ends, and they and their side proceeded to batter us. The big difference is their supporters actually care - throughout the first half, our supporters were silent - it was pathetic, truly pathetic. Loyal and Loud? Honestly? Utterly embarrassing. Nobody is even bothered. To me, the vast majority of our fanbase see our games as a bit of a jolly, a laugh that isn't that important. Cheer when we score a try, not bothered what else happens. We can conceed 50 points yet some of the balloons that support our team will cheer the side when they sneak over in the corner when 30 points behind. But through the whole of the second half, the Salford supporters chanted like they meant it, and were a credit to the sport. Meanwhile, our lot sat there in silence.
I am trying not to mention the performance put in front of us but that is the worst I have seen in 13 years following this team. Literally 0 positives, apart from Lamont Bryan who looks interested. The rest of the team are pathetic. Special mentions go out to Clubb, Melling, Bolger, Wilkes and O'Callaghan (who is so out of his depth if is unbelieveable. In fact, Clubb deserves special praise for being absolutely useless. As if some people thought he deserved international honours. He is crap. Simple as that. He is a bloke with a bit of size who can't tackle and it wouldn't concern me if we lost him to the Skolars. Apologies for dissing a player from the South, I know they are seemingly untouchable.
Oh, and our top class signing Bibb - I have seen blokes slower and less overweight in the local kebab shop.
After enduring the second half capitulation, I enjoyed a beer with the Salford fans - again, passionate about Rugby League, enjoying their victory while the majority of our supporters either went home like little sheep to return next time, went drinking in the bar, or hung around to watch our utterly pathetic youth team. I was under the impression that this team was gods gift - apparently this is the only thing keeping our club afloat. Alas, they were useless, and got ripped apart. I left at half time, utterly despondant and at a new low. I had a couple of pints with my mates and got the train back to Sheffield. And now I am home.
One of the worst things tonight was seeing one of the only supporters that I have any time for in regards to this club failing to raise a smile after the game. It truly was that bad. If we had won I would have felt the same. We are the worst team in the league, and I am strugging to keep the faith.

I read your detailed post with mounting concern. You never once went to the toilet in all that time! That can't be good for you.
I will be there - with appropriate toilet breaks - on Saturday. I like the stoop, even when you nilled us a couple of years ago it was a good day bar the result.

That has actually cheered me up slightly. I visited the toilet for the first time on the 13.09 South Western Trains service to Reading - I then had 2 visits at The Stoop, and one at the King's Arms IIRC.
With regards to next weeks game - I am very worried. I thought today was a banker, yet we got beat by bloody Salford. I fully expect your lot to put 40 points on us. I will be at the Cheltenham Festival on the Friday so hopefully I'll be in a good mood after a couple of winners and we'll pull off a shock

Thanks DL. I will rest better tonight knowing your 'tubes' are working.
The Giants were once the leading exponents of playing badly over whole seasons. It can be turned around. (One year we lost ever game up to good friday then stuffed wakefield and went on to finish 5th!)

| Many tipsters in the RL papers had you down for the wooden spoon at the start of the season , and I think they may well be correct.

| But take comfort in knowing that after all these shattering defeats we do have the best After Match Party !!!
Isn't it ironic that the club billed the 14th March as Funday on theior website

I'm not sure criticising the supporters we have left is all that constructive. And I think you take a far too pessimistic view in saying people don't care and view it as a jolly.

| Has Listy got a mother or is he a Frankenstein from some dark tunnel between Sheffield and Maidstone. Think we need to know.

| One of the things wrong with the team at the moment is that they're mentally weak. They lack concentration.
Rugby league is played with the mind as well as the body.
